For your kind information, when the British left India, they placed three options to the local kings. The options were to join India, or to join Pakistan or to be independent. The then king of Kashmir, Late Hari Singh opted for the third one that is to make Kashmir an independent country. But Pakistan intruded into it to make it a part of their country. Hari Singh pleaded for help from our Prime Minister Late Jawaharlal Nehru. Nehru made it clear to Singh that Kashmir being an independent country, India could not send her troops there as it would also make them intruder to an independent country. So if Hari Singh joined India, India might come forward to make Kashmir free from Pakistani intruders. Hari Singh agreed to this proposal but with some conditions that after being free from Pakistani intruders, Kashmir would go for a people vote to decide its fate an independent country or to join India or Pakistan . Indian soldiers entered Kashmir and soon ousted Pakistani intruders. There was international pressure on Nehru to roll back his soldiers from Kashmir. But Nehru did not care for them. When two-third of Kashmir was freed from the intruders, Nehru had to respond to international proposal of cease fire until a satisfactory solution could be found out. Since then two-third of Kashmir is under control of India and the remaining one-third of Kashmir is under control of Pakistan. Thus ultimately the sufferers are Kashmiris. So not only India should leave Kashmir but also Pakistan who actually made the crisis should leave Kashmir.
