VVS Laxman says that this innings was very painful due to the back spasms but it was very satisfying as it helped India level the series. He also commented on the fact that he always plays with an insecurity over his place in the team, but now he has started dealing with these expectations better, so is comfortable playing this role. Well, that's really great news for India. Hope he continues for at least another 2 years. Cheers! Ram

Hello, It is time for VVS Laxman to retire from test cricket. He is not fit like Sachin. His style of batting must be the fact as he bends too much to play a shot. But he played well for the Indian team against the srilanka in the third test match and helped his team to level the series 1-1.His century in the second innings was the best innings for Laxman in the series so far.I think early retirement won't cause any injuries for him in the future.

The problem for India is that they are still finding it difficult to replace Ganguly with neither Yuvraj nor Rohit fitting the bill. Raina seems to have settled in well in this series, but his real test would be in bouncier tracks. If VVS also retires then we are in real trouble. I think he will play for at least another year or so. Cheers! Ram

I think laxman is being modest, mate.A batsman with 110 tests caps and in good form ,also loads of talent cant be kept out untill he is injured. But if he plays with this insecurity which inspires him to play great innings like this then its good. This was again a very special innings to get india victory in crucial decider.I agree if he is comfortable playing his role then its indeed great news for india.Laxman's place will be hard to fill after he retires, what an amazing player.

Yes, he is modest and probably that is why the whole of the dressing room loves him!! Let's hope he plays for another 2 years at least. Cheers! Ram
