You can start visiting all those tutorial sites and follow their instruction. Learn all the functionality and the capabilities of the different tools available.

Be like a child with an inquisitive mind. In learning a graphics software you will have to be prepared to experiment, and explore the menu. Put aside any fears of making a mistake and destroying a photo. The undo function is there. My children learn mostly by themselves. They were reminded on the undo button. As a result they have become better than their mother on using several graphics software like Picture Publisher (defunct), and GIMP. One of them, who is now a facilitator in IT and multimedia, used the same approach when she had to use Photoshop at the university. Curiosity in using Photoshop will not kill you. BTW if you are afraid of losing an image create a copy before doing anything else.

You can actually use the help tutorial of that software. It depends on what kind you want to learn. Is it base on photos or just the effects? Try to search also online to get ideas.

You could go to adobe.com there are available video tutorials there and of course forum to help you out with trouble shooting and how to.

There are lots of YouTube videos and books. You obviously need the photoshop software itself you can get a student discount I don't know if that applies in your country though. You need to practice if you want to learn. I have just got into it myself and I'm just practicing. Check out Amazon for some good books to guide you.
