Yesterday, I had a discussion with my friends, when they talk about computers, they ask me what brand I got, I told them the best one I got so far is Dell, and I have other computers still running good too. They ask me how many PCs I actually got, I told them 4. They were all giving me this look, and amazed. I ask them what so surprise about if I have 4 PCs? They might think that I have too much money to waste, but I actually need those PCs help me on different projects, so I can learn many more stuffs. It is part of my investment. Is having 4 PCs too many?

Not really. Computers have become like televisions these days. My family used to have three televisions and three computers in my home, one for every person. When my brother passed away, it was two televisions and two computers. Also, depends on what the computers are used for. Mine are both Dell Computers and they are used for just about everything, but I store most of my stuff on external hard drives and thumb drives. I get rid of a lot of files that I don't need after a while. Another thing is that I am the one who mostly uses the computers. My mother rarely uses her computers since she has her Wii. Ever since she's got the Wii, she hasn't looked back. With my two computer, I can do two task at once. One can be for playing music and working on my school work, while the other is for watching movies. You can do what you want with your computers, and there is no shame in having four of them.

yes may be 2 computers can be enough as 1 good desktop and 1 good laptop can be enough to do everything even on the go!!Surely it would be nice having much more than 4 pc but i think if you are looking for best systems and utilities i think 2 good ones can be enough to work and other purposes too!!

I don't think so if they're being used. I have a laptop, my Wife does and we have a personal desktop computer that is currently in need of repairing. It's fairly new but I didn't take insurance out on it and a power cut damaged the motherboard. I'm hoping within a few more weeks, mostly likely that or after Christmas I can get it repaired because it's much faster than my laptop and I miss gaming on it.

I once dated a guy who had 4 computers, he used them for different projects, and he spent the entire day working with computers. I think it is people's own choice if they want to have 4 computers or not, and there is nothing wrong with that if you like it that way and if you use the computers in different ways. Personally I don't want 4 computers, I only want one computer. 4 computers would take up too much space in my living room and for me it is better to have only one computer.

Hi Kingpaeker!. I believe having 4 computers will be to many. What project you do until need 4 computers . I had PC and laptop at home both still working properly, PC are stronger and more durable especially for editing job and my laptop for handy job and not require many effort.

I think so but if you really use and need all 4 or them maybe not.Only if you can do what you need with 2 of them.If you can well... then you throw money on the window for the electric bill.

Hi kingparker~I guess it depends on what the purpose of having the 4 computers is! Most people are probably surprised because they are happy to have 1 computer! You didn't say if you use them all at once, for work so it leaves people to wonder. I have only 1 PC and a laptop that my "computer guy" gave me. It is one of his old ones that he didn't need and he is going to set it up for. My PC is the very first computer that I've had so far. I am waiting for a sale and will be replacing the end of this year or beginning of next because it is old and slow.

I love the fact that we live in a free world and that if you have the means you can have as much of what you want, when you want! . I personally only have the one pc but I don't think there is anything wrong with having four! I would love to have four pcs within my own home! I would connect them all together and create my very own private home network! I guess it's very good for backup purposes too as what you have on one pc you can also have the same file or document on the other pcs. I do have a bit of a technical mind myself and I'm a qualified IT Technician and I would just love to get my hands on some more pcs! Actually I'm in the process of building a pc from scratch and I will be installing windows 7 on it and I guess I will then create the early stages of a private home network. I agree that Dell is a very good make, this is the model of my own computer and I have had dealings with their customer support as was quite impressed by the way they handled things. Here's to the world of computing and all things IT!. Andrew

Having four computers is certainly something we dont often here about. If we have 2 computers then its ok. Say one is for personal stuff and the other is for professional stuff. Or maybe we had one computer which has beocme old so we buy new computer with the latest parts. But having four is certainly suprising to me unless you intend to use those 4 computers for gaming like counter strike and other multiplayer games.

well 4 computers is quiet a lot but i can blame you because in the past i got to the point of even having 10 computers running at my place. In this case i should recommend you to get read of 3, and build one great computer with a lot of memory and capacity. then try virtualization. you can have as many different OS running in a great computer at the same time. take a look in programs like vm ware or a free virtualization software like virtualbox. that will help you to save a lot of money. of course if you do a lot of processing demanding applications in the same way you might need a good computer. the times of having many different computers for different project is going to end.

hmm it sounds like having four computers is too much for one person have in my opinion.Unless you need it for work or something like that.I also heard of one person using many screans for his online game but that was his hobbie just like some people go fishing.

That is part of your investment as you said. I think it's just okay. Well, I have only one computer but I have 2 CPU and I'm going to buy one monitor soon.

Having that much of PC if each of it have purpose of use, I think it's worth to have them all. Some PC might have different specs and use. If need them to be as resourceful for you, better determine the purpose of the use for each PC and try to use them as efficient as possible.

Hi, kingparker. No. It is not too much. If you need all four of them for a particular reason, then it is not too much at all. I know this girl that works on computers and she has more than four computers in her room. You have to use what works for you better.

Seriously, no. We have like 2 desktop computers, 2 laptops and soon to have 3 laptops. Because my mom has a business and computers is somehow involved with it. When one computer crashes, she uses the other computers. I think, it is okay, as long as you use it for good purposes. Yes it is a good investment nowadays.

It is perfectly alright if you need them for different projects. I have one PC and one lap top. Laptop if I go outstation and PC for every day work. I do not need more than this. I had two more but I gave them away to my grand children.

Yeah kind of as the amount of electricity that those computers running day and night really adds to your electric bill.Basically having one good powerful desktop and then a laptop for portability would be my limit .Anything more than that is really unnecessary and you most likely will not use all the computers that often , you will most likely use one most of the time and mabyee alternative once and a while.Just sell 2 of them and get a sweet laptop , then you can do work and game while away from home.

I think there nothing wrong on having 4 computers as long that is useful to you and helps you to do the project.Of course your friend will amazed because it is not usual for one guy to have 4 computer or laptop. And in the first place it is not your fault to have that It just happen your parents can afford buying that for your project or something.
