For those of you who have been following my random craft postings the last month or so here is an update on my crafting woes. I am almost finished with that cross stitch sampler that was giving me a headache. I ran out of thread from the cross stitch kit and had to write the company for more. Has that ever happened to you? When it comes in, I just have a small bit left and then FINALLY that piece will be through. Yay. It was the worst piece I have tried to do. I will be glad to be done with it. I have also started sewing lessons. Been twice and I have made some progress on the skirt I am making it is now 2 pieces instead of 4. I will be putting the zipper in next week--wish me luck. I have also started a cross stitch piece for my Mom called Southern Snowman. It has a lot of beads which I am sure will be a headache but for my Mom it will be worth it. Have you started any new projects? Started your Christmas gifts projects maybe? Tell me how all your projects are going. I will post pics of mine when I get them finished. Feel free to post pics of your pieces so we can all see what you are doing.

I got a kit once and some of the colors were so similar, and they didn't name them well that I think I used one thread in the wrong place and it was almost not enough of the other thread to finish it, but I'm really stingy with thread, using down to the last inch most of the time

Me too, but what actually happened to me is some of the thread went missing somehow and I could use DMC to match every other color but one and that one I had to get from the company. But I have done that too, use the wrong color in the wrong place because there was 15 shades of gray or blue or something weird like that.
