NASA's Space Shuttle program is slated to end by 2011. With only 5 shuttle missions left to the International Space Station, NASA will be relying on Russian Soyuz Spacecraft to carry astronauts to space after the retirement of the Space Shuttles. This is until NASA develops a much viable and cheaper method. - A good idea or not?

i think its a good idea. i don't think the space shuttle program has much to offer or accomplish if anything at all. what are they doing up their anyway? lol, it seems just like their just camping out in outer space. i think NASA should totally focus on sending people to Mars. NASA already planned on traveling to Mars by now just after landing on the Moon. either that work more on innovative technology.

well NASA is looking to analyze space by the use of the resources already in orbit and they are leaving a human robot R2 with this last discovery mission scheduled on 1st November so taking care if the ISS will be now much easy. this seems to be a good step to reduce emissions due to sending shuttles to space and to take a step towards cleaner environment. actually NASA must have some future plans which are till now concealed to the public.
