Beauty vs. Comfort

I love shoes. Since I was a teenager.. I've worked in 3 different shoe stores.. Shoe Carnival, The Athlete's Foot && the shoe dept of JC Penney. I only buy what I like regardless of the brand. In tennis shoes here recently, I wear Jordans, Nikes or Vans. I wear heels sometimes but not like that. What are your views?? Would you prefer a comfortable shoe that wasn't that appealing?? Or would you prefer a beautiful shoe that hurt your toes?? lol

Hi mrscallands22, I have loved stylish heels since my high school days(some time ago). It is a wonder that I don't have corns on all my toes, but luckily I don't have any. I have worn high heels or some kind of wedged shoes practically all of my adult life. Comfortable shoes are a definite must. I have wide feet, and I have accepted that and will not purchase a medium width shoes if they don't have them in wides. There is no point in buying them when I know I will be miserable walking in them. A waste of my money. I don't wear sneaker out in public, Ever! I just can't stand them, but I wear them indoors when I exercise. I really am looking forward to purchasing the new shape-ups make by Skechers, but right now I can't afford the hundred dollars. I look for shoes that are beautiful and comfortable. It doesn't make since to do it any other way.

You sound a bit like me... however I love tennis shoes. I wear them mostly outside anywhere. I know a few people that have Wide Width feet... but there are sooo many stores that are equipped with those now... it's not a rare find. Thanks for commenting!!

I prefer a comfortable shoe.still comfortable doesn't mean unappealing.I love wedges because they can give the height without the pain.I am so comfortable with wedges,I can actually strut in them.I got a lot of compliments from both male and female colleagues that "you walk like a model.I cannot strut when wearing high heels because of the pain at the balls of my feet.I have lots of wedges with bling, and they are naturally appealing.

I can say that I've only owned maybe one or two pair of wedges at the most. They don't really wear those around here like that but I can understand where you're coming from. Thanks for commenting!!

This is an easy choice for me. I always prefer to wear comfortable shoes. If you are young, you shall avoid to the high heels because your feet bones may change. I don't want to wear beautiful shoes but feel hurtful all day long. A pair of comfortable shoes is always my first choice. I love China

I very much prefer a shoe that is comfortable over a shoe that is beautiful. I think that the majority of the reason that I feel this way is because of the fact that I was involved in an accident when I was a child that broke one of my ankles and because of that I've never been comfortable in a pair of heels. However, I'm also a very active person and I definitely can't keep up with the kids if I am wearing a pair of shoes that aren't comfortable to me.

Wow.. I'm sorry to hear that you broke your ankle when you were younger. I merely sprained my ankle and felt like I was dying... so I couldn't imagine how you may've felt. I prefer comfort over beauty, too. Thanks for commenting!!

When I buy shoes, I look for those that look good. Then I try them on. If they hurt but I like how they look, I may buy them and wear them from time to time. Also, if they are cheap, I'll buy them. If they are expensive, they'd better not hurt me :D

The beauty means it is related to our mind and our face.they don't need put any cream in our face.beacause ervery one have good face good they give every one.comfort means it is very relax situation our life.when the are work in any organization we should adopt the environment and we want to know what they work going to be done inthat organization,

When it comes to shoes, i will always choose comfort over beauty. Attractive shoes can be fashionable.Yet, when a shoe is uncomfortable, it foes not matter how good it looks on you. Nothing is worse than being in pain or discomfort over a pair of shoes. it just isn't worth it.

I definitely can agree with that. A few instances I have worn uncomfortable shoes and was miserable the entire day. And it's especially miserable when you're somewhere like at work where you can't change your shoes. It really sucks. Thanks for sharing your views!!

both, i love shoes as well. i don't wear tennis shoes anymore. i might wear my sperrys in the winter, but i mostly wear sandals and heels (heels..only when i'm going to work, church or going out w/ my bf) Other than that not really. But i would rather the shoes are both cute and comfortable. If its not comfortable but super cute, i can take the pain lol. as we all know pain is beauty.

I really like Sperrys. There is only one store that sells them in the city and that's Rack Room Shoes here in the local mall. I don't really wear heels like that... I am on a different swag at the moment lol. I'm a rockstar. But when I do settle into my grown & sexy, I will be more conservative. I am 23 as of yesterday and I think I'll be on that level by like 25 once I get into my profession. Thanks for commenting!!

There are a lot of people out there like that... and I was one of them a few years ago... but to prevent future problems with my feet... I decided to go ahead and stop. Besides, there are plenty of attractive shoes that are also comfortable. I take the extra time to find those now as it will benefit me greatly in the long run. But, I don't knock anyone that does. Thanks for sharing!!

I'd prefer beautiful AND comfortable shoes. :) Since I turned 21 and had been working at the office I've been pretty inclined to heels, mainly because I want to look tall (I'm kinda short .

Hello! I am a shoe lover! Whenever I have spare time, I go to malls after Office just to have window SHOPPING for shoes, LOL. I would wear a shoes that is comfortable even if that shoes are not the best when it comes to looks! How can you walk at your best poise when your feet is aching because your shoes don't fit well? I love shoes by NIKE, REEBOK, and ADIDAS. I play basketball that's why I am always looking for shoes that fits well, lightweight, durable and "good-looking" on the court. Comfort is not an exception in this criteria! Design and looks are good, but comfort is better! Thanks!

I love Nike and Addidas, too. And you're right... when playing any sport, it is important to have the balance and durability in a good shoe that will last you throughout each and every game. I think that comfort over beauty is definitely a necessity in this case. I used to love shoes like that until I worked in several shoe stores... after that and being around shoes so much... my love for them started to diminish! Thanks for sharing your views!!

Hello Mrscallands. I love shoes, what woman doesn't? When I was younger I used to cram my feet into the most unsuitable shoes just because they looked good. I had blisters, sore feet, sore insteps, sore legs, all from wearing nice looking shoes which didn't fit properly. Now I'm in my mid forties and I wear comfortable shoes, they still have to look good but comfort comes first.

I can believe that. I know a lot of women that do that now lol. In different parts of China in ancient times, they would break the women's feet and place it so that it would heal smaller so that they could fit smaller shoes.. now THAT'S bogus!! Oddly enough, I wore a bigger size when I was younger than I do now. I wore size 11 Wide in church shoes then and like a 10 in regular shoes. Now I wear 8 1/2. They say that feet can't shrink... but I'm living proof!! Thanks for commenting!!
