everyone has stage fright but in varying degrees i used to have it at a debilitating level i'd literally spew my guts out at the thought of climbing onstage alcohol helped a lot in overcoming it but at a great cost so i had to learn to control the fear of being onstage and in front of a crowd i don't know why i had stage fright and up until 2008 I could not and would not admit it to myself for chrissakes I'm supposed to be an entertainer and stage fright is considered as a hindrance in a performer's profession haha ever experienced stage fright? at what degree?

I sing and when I get up on stage my fright is so terrible that I shake horribly, I feel like I will throw up, and my voice automatically goes into higher pitches. It is ridiculous! I hate this because I know if I wasn't this way I could probably have some kind of career with singing. Everyone that has heard me sing says I can sing well. To bad, I literally can't do it =(

i have this too like almost all the time. when i was still in school, i hate reporting in class where you have to stand in front of everybody and discuss everything you have to. i don't like giving instructions too. it means you have to be accurate and confident in doing so. maybe i'm not used to it. im the type who just sit in the corner and listen. more on a follower..

To a certain degree, I think I do. Even though the only people I play for are at church. With me, it depends on what I'm playing, if it is something new. Like, this Sunday I'm not going to be playing out of the hymnal but something else. And, you always wonder how well something like that is going to go over.

I used to get stage fright a lot. My bowels would kick in before and I'd have to use the loo. I'd be OK on stage, but I'd be a total wreck afterwards. I still get nervous. It's not something I get used to - it's just that I've learnt to manage it better. Being an entertainer doesn't preclude you from getting nervous, getting scared. The only difference is that you're scared, but you're still moving - as nervous as you feel, there's still something that propels you to stand in front of people and share stuff with them.

I used to have it five years ago. It is as if my whole world will collapse if someone ask me to deliver a speech on stage. As time goes by and as I got myself exposed on stage more often, I overcome it and going on stage to deliver speeches has been easy for me. Though I still feel nervous, it will fade off when I started speaking. With constant exposure, I am sure you can overcome your fear too! Good luck!

You are absolutely right chipesterkhan, stage fright is a hindrance for performers. I guess the more you get experienced being on the stage the more it would help. The first time i played drums on stage, i was quite nervous but with time and more performances i have come to the conclusion that we just need to do what we need to do and not think about what other people think. This way we can concentrate on entertaining and it goes quite well too. We have to get confident enough in doing what we do, and the rest everything goes how we intend them to.

I had terrible stage fright as a child. We would do classroom plays in school and my heart would be pounding and my stomach would be in knots over it. I was afraid i would forget what to do or say when i saw anyone looking at me. What i would try to do is look past the people and not at them. it helped my confidence and my concentration. When it was over, i would laugh at myself for ever feeling doubt.

For me it is natural that kind of feeling but if you have faith from Jehovah God then it is okey.
