Why must it be such hard work!!

Im working now at home sitting in front of my pc and as im looking out in the backyard through the patio doors, I can see hubby cutting the grass. Its VERY hot and VERY humid out there and I told him to wait to Sunday to cut it as it wont be as hot and sunny. Noooo, he has to do it today. He has to cut the grass once a week or the world might come to an end. We have a very large property and it takes him about 4 hrs to cut it all. He's now using a land mower when he could be using the tractor. I asked him why and he said its good exercise.......ok!! We also have about 101 trees on our property so he has to go all around the trees. At the far end we have a fence but a line of trees along it. I cant help but laugh when I see him walking through all the tree branches as they hit him in the face. Why walk ALONG it when he can stand away and cut the grass vertically instead? He's not the only one doing this, the neighbors on each side are also doing that. They end up having cuts and bruises all over their faces and bodies. Why cant men see a simpler way to do things like us women do?? Does your husband ......or wife (hey that could happen lol) also does work the hard way instead of going at it the easy way?

I am the one who mows the lawn in our family, and I really hate it. But when the grass get tall I can't relax because I just think about it and that I must mow it soon, so it is better to have it done. Maybe it is the same with your husbands? Our neighbours always keep their lawns so neat and I don't want them to talk bad about us and say that we are making the neighbourhood look bad. I hate mowing because it is difficult for me to start the mower and it makes so much noise.

Im sorry you have so much trouble starting the mower....get an electric one then, you just flick a switch to start it.....I think lol. I never mowed the lawn in my life. I know it bothers him if our grass is about a quarter inch long, but I hate to see him out in the sun sweating, but I cant change him. I guess I should be thankful he's not a lazy bum!! Thanks and Im so sorry you hate it so much and have trouble. Hope you can get an electric mower soon!

Ah, but it's the challenge of it all. Keeps us strong!! Nothing can stop us. That is why women come to us for help. Now if we just did everything easy, we wouldn't get off the couch!!! Don't tempt us. There is a little couch potato in us all.

Haha, well I dont think he's a couch potato, he gets restless when he has nothing to do. Im not complaining too much as he's always fixing anything I ask him to. Well have fun keeping busy also!! Thanks!

My husband and I live in an apartment, so grass and lawn care is taken care of for us. My father though is like this! He will spend an entire evening at my parent's house cutting the grass and making it look pretty! lol He always does what will make it look best, not what takes the least amount of time or is easier. He's very particular about "his yard" and wants it to look good - so he takes the time to make it look that way. Kudos to him but I don't think I could ever do it! Especially on these hot, humid summer evenings AND after a 8 or 10 hours of hard physical labor at his job! YIKES! Kudos to these men who bust their butts and love their yards!
