Should I drink water during workout or not?

Hi, I constantly workout, and I drink alot of water. ONe day, my friend told me that drinking water before or during workout isn't good for me. So, I am just wondering if anyone knows the answer, thanks

hi Guanyu Your friend is full of baloney or urban legend or both. Water is needed during hard workouts as you need to replenish the sweat you lost and water is the best for that really.Maybe your friend is just jealous as you are working out and keeping fit.

If you don't drink water during a work out, you are risking dehydration. It is important to keep your fluids up. I go out and walk for hours on end due to my job. I always keep a bottle of water with me.

i think whats your friend suggestion is not right. drink water even you are working or not is good.

If your exercise involves crunches, I suggest that you drink water after the work-out so that you won't have a large tummy as you do the exercise but if it involves jogging, it is better that you drink water every now and then so you replenish lost body liquids.

Guanyu you should drink plenty of water before and during workout because you might suffer from dehydration during workout.

I think what your friend is trying to say is not not to drink water but to drink the right kind of water during your workouts. During workouts you sweat a lot and loose energy from your body. Ordinary tap water cannot easily replace those lost minerals from your body. There are a lot of special water or drinks that could easily rehydrate your body.

What is wrong with drinking water during workout. I don't think your friend is right in telling you that drinking water during workout is not good. In fact during workout when we sweat a lot we need to replace those lost liquid by drinking otherwise we will suffer dehydration. So as for me, I find nothing wrong with drinking lots of water when working out. In fact it is the best thing to do actually. I've been doing that!
