What household chore would you rather do....wash clothes or wash dishes?

Everybody has a least favorite chore....mine is dusting. But that is not a daily chore for me. Washing clothes and washing dishes seem to be non-ending, and I have to do both of those chores everyday. Which would you rather do?

I actually don't mind doing either one. I do laundry all the time, however, I CANNOT stand to put it away after I fold it all, so my wife usually does that. However, if I have to choose one, I would rather wash the dishes. It usually doesn't take me that long, and once I an done with them, I don't have to think about it any more, unlike the laundry, which can take all day to get done.

I don't like folding the laundry and putting it away either, I much rather put it in the washer, and take it from the dryer. When I do fold the laundry and put it away, I take forever to do it as I procrastinate. I try to leave the putting away for my husband, but feel guilty as he works and I'm just lazy!

Ditto from me on folding and putting away the laundry. Washing and drying the clothes is not so bad. And you are correct, goldeneagle, laundry is more time consuming than washing dishes! Thanks for responding.

I enjoy washing dishes however I despise drying or putting away. With that said, I also like filling up the washer with clothes but hate the rest of the laundry process LOL Except if I get the chance to hang clothes on the line outside. I love doing that as well. My least favorite chore is sweeping all the dog hair in our home! UGH THAT is never ending LOL

We have a dishwasher here, and I love it! It's an easy process. My husband and I live with his parents, and I'm already preparing myself for when we do eventually move, because chances are we might not have the luxury of a dishwasher, and then it's back to washing by hand, which I don't like either!

I have a dishwasher, but tend to pre-wash the dishes first...so I might as well just do them by hand. But I would really miss the dishwasher if I didn't have one. I hope you will be able to have a dishwasher when you get to move out!

Of course prefer to wash the clothes because I just need to put them into the washing machine and everything will be done. And washing dishes is a boring housework for me. I love China

I think you are the first solid vote for laundry over dishes! But you are right, the washing machine does the work. Thanks for responding!

True. Come to think of it, I do spend a lot of time hand scrubbing some of my laundry. Or handwashing the delicates as well. But I bet when women were beating the clothes on a rock and washing them in the river that they wished they had a washing machine. LOL! Thanks for your comment.

I laughed when I read this one. Hmmm... Yes, we also have a washing machine as well to do laundry. However, most of the time, using the washing machine is not helping much to remove the dirt of the clothing unlike doing it manually. It's almost wearing the same unwashed clothes.

I think that I would have to say that I would rather wash... well this is a tough one, I'd have to say wash clothes only because I enjoy the warmth when they come out of the dryer, as well as the smell, and while this may sound a bit weird, I like taking the lint from the lint trap.

I agree. The warmth and the smell of clothes coming out of the dryer is heavenly. (And I kind of like cleaning the lint trap, too.) When I was a child I used to love to help my mother hang clothes on the line because we didn't have a dryer then. Sheets dried outside are divine.

I'd rather be washing dishes. At least with that I can do at my apartmnet. With the clothes, it means I have to gather all of my clothes up and take it to my car and take it to an laundry mat, and be there for about two hours. Which, in the end, always seem to kill the day.

Boy, I do not miss the laundry mat! It's been many years since I had to do that, but it is a BIG job! Thanks for your response.

I'd rather be washing the dishes, at least I know for sure that the one who'll next use the plate is safe - the plates are properly washed. They could eat healthy. It may be an unending cycle, I know for sure, washing the dishes is granting a noble cause for a healthy living.

Thanks for responding. Yes, I think washing dishes serves a grand purpose. There is nothing worse than finding dried-on food on your fork, or something. Yuk.

I learned it from Mother Teresa of Calcutta. (I hope I spelled it right) :)
