A couple of weeks ago i got interest in solar energy. Did some research to learn more about it. There is tonnes of interest out there. I find it interesting because you can use the sun to make electricity. Anyways i ended up buying one of those cheap solar panel chargers for cell phones, mp4 players. I never was able to get it to charge with its solar panel. As to be expected with such a small panel. Scrap that idea... i was talking to a friend more about it with more research we found tonnes of sites selling solar cells for your own DIY projects. All in all i bought some solar cell and will be creating a solar panel to play around with as a project. If all goes well i hope to be building a bigger system to provide much more power. Overall for the price , its not worth it for energy costs for solar systems. It takes tonnes of panels and tonnes of money to produce what the electricity company sells for cheap. The only benefit is if you lived somewhere far off the grid , or you want to go green. Here is Canada i was reading in the local newspaper that the government offers 0.80$ a KW for solar energy. Got me thinking at that price it may be worth it to sell power back if you can make enough power. For me thats not the plan i just thought it would be interesting to take part in harnessing free energy. What do you think about solar energy?

It seems there is a company electratherm.com that sell "green machines" in multiples of 50KW. It seems to use the "low" temperature evaporation of a refrigerant to generate the "steam" needed to drive a turbine. All this using the heat of sunlight ... What do you think?

I was talking more about smaller systems under 200 watts. I plan on doing a site about diy solar builds. There seems to be alot of interest in it and very litte quality information.
