I wanted to be inked before I get 25 years old, and I'm coming 23 this year. Right now I'm still thinking where to put my first tattoo. My first tat should be very meaningful, that's why I'm thinking before getting inked. I would really wanted to have it at the back of my neck or ribs, definitely with a color. Im still looking for a design that is meaningful in my life. But Im thinking of a meteor shower especially on my ribs. Do you have a tattoo? Can you share some ideas?

A tattoo on your ribs is going to be more painful than on the back of your neck. You have muscle in that area, while your rib area is just skin, nerves and bone. So that's something to take into consideration if you're squimish about pain. Also, remember that the larger the tattoo, the more detail and the more color, the longer the process is going to take. Not all tattoos have to have a special meaning...sometimes you just see something that you like. I don't have any tats yet but my husband has quite a few in various locations. I also have a close (female) friend who has a few thousand dollars worth of ink on her body. Another suggestion is that you go to an artist who has a good reputation because a bad tattoo is not easily fixed. Another friend went to a cut rate shop and would up with lines and shading that bled into areas where it shouldn't have.

Thanks for sharing. I have heard from a lot that is really painful on thr ribs. I do hope that I could bare the pain wherever I would put the tat. And looking for a great artist is a must. I don't want to be inked by an artist who will give me a regret in my entire life. So thanks for reminding. :)

I have quite a few tattoos and I will admit the first few were thought out for awhile but it usually doesn't take long for me to think of something since I am going for sleeves anyways. I would say live life to the fullest and don't be afraid because it'll be on you forever. Just make sure it represents part of your life that you love or something you just want to remember. Hell just have fun with it!
