After the heartache of missing the world cup squad, Walcott is determined to prove that he should have been in the squad and there is no better way to make his point by scoring a hat-trick against Blackpool. Having watched the match, I can't remember Walcott being such an influence. I can see that he is much calmer in front of goals and looks good to partner Rooney as England striking duo. But a swallow does not make a spring. Lets see how the season progress for him.

Yeah, Walcott was fantastic, he did great and I guess that points to he outstanding growth. Doesn't that show that Wenger is doing a great job with him. He displayed the kind of maturity that many years of professional play would teach a baller. The Gunners were great and it is a good way to start off after a draw at anfield that almost gave me a heartache. GUNNER FOR LIFE

As per Arsene Wenger, Theo Walcott was electric yesterday. And even better as per him he will only get better. I think Theo served notice once again what he is capable of on his day. I think Capello made a big mistake by not taking him to the world cup as Theo's pace would have been a great asset against the Germans. But you are right, Theo is a hit and miss kind of player just yet and needs to be more consistent to really nail down his position. Cheers! Ram
