So here is the thing. when Roy Hodgson was appointed as the next liverpool manager, i wasn't really too fond of him. i would prefer Daglish or better, Mourinho to lead liverpool. i mean despite the problems last season, the critics on his zonal marking, rotation policy, and etc, Rafa Benitez did a fairly good job in managing liverpool. or should i say a great job. we do remember that liverpool won their 5th champions league under him in that remarkable match in istanbul, not including other matches like the 4-0 trashing of real madrid and 1-4 trashing of manchester united at old trafford. still, what Roy Hodgson has bring is stability and confidence. that is the most important thing right now considering the disasters of last season. and he has bring that to livepool. players like steven gerrard and torres committing to liverpool is evident of that. whether he'll bring silverware remain to be seen but for now for this season, getting to the top 4 should be the goal for this season..

Roy Hodgson is more like a coach. We need a manager for a big club like Liverpool. Hope he becomes successful here. YNWA Merry Christmas.

I would myself have preferred Dalglish especially given his past record with Liverpool. Anyhow, I think the damage done by Benitez to Liverpool FC will take some time rectify. The bigger damage of course has been done by the co owners Gillet and Hicks and I think they will first need to move on before the recovery of Liverpool can begin. If that happens, then I think Roy will do better than Rafa in two year's time. But if that does not happen, then God save Liverpool!! Cheers! Ram

Benitez reign started on a good note, just like Houllier. Somehow, along the way, they just lose their mojo. As for Hodgson, he had done reasonably well with Fulham the previous season. But Liverpool is the first time he is managing a big club with huge expectation. Can he perform under such pressure, we shall see.

Yes, what an obvious statement. I agree with you. Roy Hodgson definitely do better than Benitez. He has good management. Without good a manager, even the top player will not perform well. Yes, Mourinho is the best manager. No wonder, even Maradonna seeks his guide.
