I used to wait for the night especially during my exam studies, Moreover I do get more concenteration during the late night studies. I do not know, may be the silence and clamness might have given much better effect. But somedays I usually watch televison if I do not feel sleepy, but recently I had read few books during the late night, I really enjoyed it.

I love reading books! And yes I read late at night when I don't feel sleepy. Actually, I make it a point to read a little before going to sleep. I also read whenever I wake up in the middle of the night and find myself unable to sleep. I don't know but reading lulls me to sleep. I used to read when I get scared in my room. Funny but it's true. Playing with my imagination relieves me of the fear I feel. Oh, regarding your habit of studying in the evening, I also do that! I also find it very easy to concentrate when everyone else is asleep. I play music while reading my notes and studying for my exam. Let's not forget to read under a good light though.

jerikjames, I admire that you can read at night if your imagination gets the better of you and you start to get scared, I myself have to turn on a television when this happens. I can't read until I've forgotten about whatever my imagination worked up to scare me!

Reading books is one of my unstoppable habit since I enjoy learning new things and get myself excited. Reading is full of surprises and I love surprises. Sometimes I read books till morning especially when the story gets too much exciting and I can't wait to finish it. Sometimes, I also read just to tire my eyes to sleep. lol

Oh I enjoy reading a book until it's finished, I've done that in the past but not so much anymore. I find that immersing myself in the story helps me to relax.

Yes, sometimes I do read books before I go to bed, and I do it because I need something to read.

Wow, you studied during the night when you didn't feel sleepy...I wonder how much you actually remembered. I do read when I am not sleepy but I read fiction material. I don't want to be reading anything important that I have to remember because then my brain would be working overtime and I wouldn't be able to get sleepy again. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep. I used to try to watch TV to get sleepy again but that didn't work so I started to read and that works for me. It makes me very sleepy again. My husband then, now an ex-husband, did the same thing when he couldn't sleep. He would keep his lamp on on his side of the bed and would read till he fell asleep. His light would usually end up waking me up and I would have to lean over him to turn it off. Then I would have trouble falling back to sleep and I would turn mine on and read and fall asleep and then he would wake up. This used to happen over and over again all night. We are no longer together anymore. Cheers, Chris

I am up during the night hours because my husband works third shift. That being said, it's usually quiet in the house and so the perfect time to pick up a book and read it. I enjoy reading at night, except for if it is a bit of a thriller book because those can be scary to read. The quiet of night is great, and I find I can read more because there is nothing to distract me, if it is a book that is a bit scary I just sit in front of t.v. so that I can turn it on.

i so agree with you that we don't get much distractions at night. a thriller can get scary yes, thus, usually it's not really on my favourite genres unless there's romance and it seems really interesting.

Hi, Now I seldom read books at night...I can say that I am not a bookworm. most of the time, I will read magazine. Being a mother, everynight I will read bed time stories for my son. When I was studying on my university, I used to read books at night for revision. Especially during exam period, I used to stay back late for my revision. To wake myself up at night, I need some titbits or coffee. Once a while, I will stay back late at night to surf net after my son has slept. But not to read books.

for me personally, i too enjoy reading at night especially if my children are asleep and my hubby is not at home. he disapproves of me reading at night. but for me, i agree, it's the silence of the night and the very few distractions that makes reading at night so enjoyable. that is of course, if you're not sleepy. but i agree, if we're not careful, reading can even be an addiction i feel. for me, it's my husband that's keeping me in line. if not, i think my house would be in even more of a mess than it usually is.

i agree... less noise, less distractions (because almost everybody's asleep) and less concerns... so you can focus more on what you are reading.... ^_^ I do that too most of the times

I always read before I go to bed. If it gets too late however, I usually don't read. A lot of times if I read in the middle of the night, I will never get to bed. I would probably end of stating up to finish the book, which I really don't want to do that late.

I have always been an avid book reader. Any time is a good time for reading books. I usually don't need an excuse. if i am not feeling sleepy late at night i will grab a book and begin reading before doing anything else.

I read books by night in the past, when I had sleeping problems. Nowadays, I have a busy lifestyle and arrive home very tired, so as soon as I get into the bed I fall asleep immediately. That makes it impossible for me to try reading any book by night. When I have tried, I have fallen asleep before finishing the first page

I pretty much do all of my book reading late at night. I have several books on the shelf on my headboard currently reading. I usually spend an hour or two or three reading in the wee hours. It's quite, peaceful, and I find a good book is as soothing to the spirit as the sleep would have been. If I awake in the night and can't return to sleep, I reach for a book to make good use of the insomnia attack.

Yes! I read before going sleep every night, unless I am very tired, which makes me sleep right away.

Bedtime is my favourite time for reading. If I read during the day, I get sleepy! I think it's hardwired! The only downside is if the book is too good then I can't put it down and I lose track of time and end up staying up waaaay too late!

Lately, I am taking more time on learning videogrpahy. When I felt not ready to sleep although it's already my sleeping time, I take out the vidcam and read the e-manual (help & guide) to know more about its functionality and take several shooting-tests. More importantly, when capturing images in low light condition and how to negotiate with its EV (Exposure Value) level.

Hi dear, There was a time I enjoyed the late nigh reading. But the time of reading has wiped out by computers and I cannot stand the eye strain after a period of time. Over loaded work at office and long hrs work straight on computer for 7-8 hrs. is more and used to take minimum 2 hrs at home in the night also with computes. I wish to read and my favourite subjects would haunt me also. But, still prefer to around with computers only. Regards, Thank-s
