I usually love to see Ajax in the Champions League. They are what I call an industry as they seem to produce raw young talent. I hope they do the same this season. Let's see what Ajax cook up in this season of Champions League. Cheers! Ram

The problem with Ajax is that the moment their team perform admirably in the Champions League, the bigger clubs will be hovering around the club and take away their better players. After they are done, Ajax will have to rebuild, which will have a couple of years before they make a storm in the CL only for the cycle to happen again. This in fact rings true for smaller clubs. But, I do hope Ajax will have some success in CL. They are one of the more entertaining club in Europe.

ya, because they never can hold their talented player so long...like rafael van de vart, sneijder. you can remember ajax is so weak because many great players of them is easily remove to other clubs

i think champion league this season is very difficult to Ajax to success. they have to face the dream team Real Madrid with it new manager Mourinho and the ex-winner AC Milan. it can be said that Ajax is in a heavy group. we will see how Marteen Stekelenberg and Luis Suarez show their skill against Real Madrid and AC Milan.

Our defence is like cheese with holes. Alderweireld, Ooijer and Oleguer are very average defenders. But Suarez and El Hamdaoui ( similar level to Suarez) are very good strikers, they know to find each other. And Maarten of course, our club icon, he's one of the best keepers in the world, period. Oh and eriksen, gonna be one of the best players of his generation... I wuv him vewy mutsj :P Oh and if you like Dutch football take a look at Vitesse. They've been bought by Merab Jordania, man that guy is crazy, he pumps millions in Vitesse already. They even want to become national champion within 3 years, crazy people there in Arnhem.

Teams like Ajax are always welcome in the Champions League, because they are a great team in the true meaning of the word. They have a great history, they have a great youth academy and they are not a team which was bought by a certain wealthy person, as far as I know. A football team which is bought it is not the same team anymore, it becomes the puppet of somebody and the owner does what he wants with the team. Football teams should stay as they are, like the German teams, where 51 percent of the shares belongs to the city. This way the fans feel that the team is theirs and that it is not a toy in the hands of a person who has money, but is not sure that has the feelings for that particular team.

ya, ajax is full of history. but i think since 2004 they is hard to make and same their past situation when ajax still have a player like john cruyf, van basten, bergkamp, kluivert and so on

I think if Luis Suarez continue to score goals for Ajax, very soon he will be poached away by Manchester City or Real Madrid. Though he is now cup tied, i think it doesn't matter to Mancini or Mourinho. The money is there and having Suarez sitting on the bench is something the coach might wants. So, if Suarez really leaves (perhaps Stkelenburg too) then I think Ajax will not go far in champions league. My bet is that Ajax will not make it to the knock-out stage.
