Why are people so stupid?

I know this is going to be hard for many to not take offence of,but I mean, why do we need all these laws to tell us we must except every one on an even level, when this is impossible? There is no longer free speech, free thought, nothing. If we say anything against a race or even an individual from another race, you are committing a crime of hatred. or if you want to rent a house only to a white person, you are a racist. When are people going to wake up,there is no way in the world that every one on this planet is ever going to except different religious beliefs other than their own,nor are we ever going to get along with other races,no matter how many laws there are. While a lot will say it will come about, when we see what is happening with mixed race marriages, many see this as an act of treason and causes more hatred. While it may be a nice thought, look at history,it will not happen. I do know, the majority will say I am wrong, and they are entitled to their opinion,I am not the law. Thank you for your insight. Many Blessings.

How refreshing to read your post mac1946 (is that your year of birth?). Many people question the subject but very few have the balls to actually come out and say it! Of course there are differences and thank goodness there are. It is what makes for a colourful and interesting society. Not many white people live and work in a country where they are just a small minority and often are subject to racialism by the black majority. It is not pleasent to experience it but it isn't too hard to ignore it and put it down to stupidity. We can and do live and work together in harmony most of the time but we must also be allowed to socialise with whom we want and that is often with people of our same ethnic group. There is nothing wrong with that. It is how sections of a city become the Jewish sector, the Italian sector, Chinatown, etc. because they enjoy their own company. It would be crazy to force people to integrate by law.

Ha ha! Yes. I have had that experience Tiaridakdyl. I was told by a girl to meet a guy and to look out for someone who is tall and very good looking and wearing a red shirt. No problem. I found the guy and all was ok. But she forgot to mention that he was black! It didn't worry me an iota that he was black but I would have thought it might have been a obvious feature to identify him by. haha.

I don't know who was the majority but I definitely experienced a lot of racism from blacks when I was growing up (Baltimore/DC area). Usually I'm not "allowed" to say it but that's how it was. Right now I'm living in the south and it's a lot different. I don't automatically assume that a group of blacks will attack and rob me here, they're more likely to hold doors, smile and say hello, etc. Race IS more than just skin color, our bodies DO work differently just like the sexes do (ask a doctor). Mostly though, I think it's culture that makes the difference. Pretty much every culture group has been discriminated against/enslaved/oppressed at some time in history. If people of ALL races spent more time trying to be better people instead of decrying racism, things would be fine. We could make it ridiculous for someone to be racist if it were obvious that each person was decent. I don't know that I'm being clear here - what I mean is that if someone is complaining about people of a different race but all the people hearing them only know decent people of that race, the racist one would look ridiculous and ignorant.

Something else, people look for others they have something in common with. We're counseled to do so when looking for friends and for spouses. Frequently that's someone with a similar background and culture. It's not wrong to do that! The fun and fascinating part is getting to know someone who ISN'T like us and enjoying their company and their differences. Having to pretend they're no different than we are is adding tension that doesn't need to be there. I know some white people who are afraid to mention someone's race at all as if even noticing it is taboo. Are other races the same about that? If I'm trying to point out which of two people someone needs to talk to and one's white and one's black, I'm going to say 'the white woman' or 'the black woman'. DUH. I'm not blind or stupid. Some white people are horrified if someone does that. I read on here that Chinese people are often prejudiced against Filipinos so it's obviously still going on in the world. Maybe it just takes everyone getting to know a few people of a different race, people who are decent and friendly, to let them know not "all" Filipinos/ Chinese/white/black/whatever people fit the stereotype they've learned. I learned prejudice from experience as a child, I wasn't raised in any way to think these things. Now as I get older, I've met enough people to wait and see how they act. Of course I pre-judge according to what I see. We all learn from experience and some of us have more experience than others.

Take into consideration that human has its own individual differences. If you think they are stupid to you learned to embrace them. That's the only way you will appreciate them.Yes! some are blunt but you'll never know whats within if you didn't try to reach out their inner feeling.Or else never mind them.

Thank you ynahh1,it is not so much as being willing to get to know other races, this I do,I have friends of many races, what I am against,is their using their religious beliefs to force us to change our laws to suit them. Why do they come to ours or other countries if they are not willing to change their ways to ours? thank you for your comment.

Making the world free of racism will be hard and even impossible. But it's not only about racism. Sexism is still around and certain types of discrimination is happening. but just look at the bright side. The world is not perfect but don't you think it improved? My boyfriend doesn't want to rent an appartment to an owner whom is the same race as him and of course he isn't racist. My philosophy is 'don't do something bad to other people because it will come back to you three times fold'. People can think whatever they want about my race but i don't want to know; they can keep it for themselves or to the other people who share the same value as him/her. But this is just my opinion. if you feel like you need to express yourself openly, what stops you? Wether you are racist or not, people will judge you by your words and attitude. True enough that past history has shown that some races were abused. However, As long as you focus on the past, something you can't change, you will not focus on the present.

Hello ladysakurax,it sounds like you follow the same path as I do,so we have been able to understand discrimination first hand.(Wiccan). No lady,I cannot say anything has improved,if anything there is a lot more hatred now than before, and it will only get worse. Thank you for your comment.

Hi mac1946 How are you doing today I do not judge a person by the color or skin. I think it is just surface. The most important thing is inside. Everybody has different surface, and it's geneogenous. We can't choose which race we could be. But we can choose how to be a good person. Consequently, no matter you are black, white people. I don't care. I just wanna know you are good person or not.

Thank you greenteab7,This is true, you can not choose your race, unfortunately, this cannot be said about your religious beliefs, most are forced into this by parents, and this is the biggest cause of hatreds. Thank you for your comment.

It is certainly not a lack of education, as we live in a world so full of opportunities. So stupidity is the only label valid here for we just have no other reason for being this way at all.

This doesnt make them stupid but it is something they felt the should do to keep order around the world. Some people are racists because it comes by family, nobody can be a racist because they just wanted too. There is always a reason for everything that happens. And in this generation these racist things (marriage and rentong to only white people) doesnt happen very often anymore. We just need to make our kids think the right way and exept other racises so that the can continue teaching their children and i do believe that one day there will be no racism in the world. I dont get why there is in the first place after all we are all humans. Our skin color doesnt change that fact. Now about the laws, i think they need to have them. As you might see even with all these laws they just dont obey them and dont exept other people, so imagine if there wasnt any laws at all..It could be much worse than it is now.

Whether it be religion or origin of birth,or cultural values, all are matters of each persons upbringing, with the exception of course on where you are born, this is not your choice, but everything else is taught to you by family. And no matter what you or anyone thinks, there are going to be hatreds towards others, either imagined or real. And to be told by law enforcement that you are going to go to jail for hate crimes because you do not want to have anything to do with another race,is only going to make that hatred worse. In most cases,if the immigrant person or families would come in and be fully willing to take the culture they moved to and not try forcing their beliefs on us,there would be a lot less reason to dislike them. Thank you for your answer.

I know! I do not judge a person by the color of their skin! I judge them on their stupidity level! I live, work and play in 99% "white land". Show me a guy that's built with a brain and I will give you a prize! Show me a woman who works more than gossip and I give you a prize! Show me anyone driving with a cell phone in their hand and hold them till I can slap em'! Color or race does not breed stupidity! Stupidity breeds stupidity. Thank you. I feel better now.
