home-made alkaline water

A friend of mine told me that drinking alkaline water is one way of preventing diseases in your body especially cancer. Does anybody know to make a home-made alkaline water?

Most tap water is alkaline or neutral. Bottled (still, not sparkling) water is also slightly alkaline. Rainwater is usually slightly acid (it contains dissolved carbon dioxide which forms carbonic acid).
You can easily make water alkaline by mixing it with crushed chalk or limestone and letting it settle, then filtering it.

Here, we use Kangen Water machine, from the company called Enagic. It's a good water purifier, water ionizer, and it delivers alkaline water. But it is very expensive. The machine is very expensive. We bought a machine for home use, the cost is P200,000.00 or almost $4,000.00. But it's worth it.
