If you were rich like those celebrities which charity org. would you pick to donate some of your money to? Me, I would donate money for cancer victims themselves, not the research org. for its cure. I would also like to donate money for those poor children who are victims of abuse. There's more...if only i was rich (sigh). How about you?

Good question. I think something like famine relief or disaster areas would get my donation. Something where people would die if they didn't get financial help. But I guess pretty much all charities are good. I just feel money should go where the need is greatest. I.e While there is still one starving man woman or child on earth money should go there, not to causes that although good, don't save lives just improve them. 'You don't mow the lawn when the house is on fire, no matter how long the grass is' makes sense to me on this issue :)

That's true...some causes are good but don't save lives. The Hurricane Katrina disaster is a good example of your choice of charity. That's really good...and I like that saying that you mentioned. It makes a lot of sense. Thank you.

I always dreamed of winning the lottery and giving the money back to Aids victims of this dreaded disease. I volunteered with many in Missouri from 1992 to 2000 and trust me the illness does not go away. Its pretty hard way to know about the illness seeing it up close and personal. I also learned a lot about different cultures and how they handled the illness. I took courses from the Red Cross, Effort For Aids, and also at the State level. I spent many hours holding countless hands til their last breath and doing all the errands when family had turned them away because of their beliefs of this illness. Yes this would still be my dream to have them in a safehaven while they lived with the struggles of this illness.

Wow, there are so many charities that I would want to give to! I try to donate to charity when I can of course, but having a lot of money to give, now that would be great. First and foremost, I would donate the humane society and a few other organizations for animal welfare and rescue, and I would probably find a reputable organization to donate for education and helping people become self-sufficient and get off government aid. I think things like that, in the long run, can help the most if you can teach people new habits that they can hopefully pass on to others.

I have lost my very dear family members to their battles with cancer. if i were wealthy and could away money to any charity, i would not hesitate to give it to cancer research. i would love to be able to do something to help wipe out this monstrous disease!

I have given this some thought, and I would give to organizations who help children. Make a Wish is a great one. I have a niece who had cancer, and Make a Wish granted her wish to go to Disneyworld. I've seen some of the kids this organization helps. Some of the wishes are as simple as meeting a sports figure, or being able to participate in something. I would however, donate only to charities that help kids in the US for now. You know the old saying: Charity begins at home. AHHH...to dream of riches.

Oh I've heard of the Make a Wish foundation. I've seen some of those children on tv some time ago. It gave me tears of joy watching those children got their wishes. Thank you for your response.

I certainly would make donations to charity organizations. I would make donations to those organizations which help people who are effected by natural disasters. Those people effected are so pitiful, and it is so sad to see adults and children living under so dangerous conditions and environment. The organizations helping them need the support to do their best in reaching out to those people.

If i were rich, first, I would prefer to donate some of my to our church, because it has various community programs and projects. I intend to see my donation working to the less fortunate families in our community.

I belong to average but i have plans in putting our own charity in the near future. It doesn't need t be rich in able us to help the needy ones. Looking for a sponsors is a big help but the problem is where but if you are willing enough to help there's always a way. Anyway, in the future the beneficiaries are the children and perhaps the elders who often out of the picture.

Now, that I'm strapped for cash, I can still make small contributions for now. What more if I'm rich? I could donate even more. As to which charity, I cannot say for now. I will cross the bridge when I get there.

I've always dreamed of building my own school for poor children when I get rich. Also, I want to donate to an orphanage near my home. If people become rich, I think it's a really nice thing to share your wealth to those unfortunate ones specially children.

i've been serving an orphanage for almost a year now..the children who are residing there are aged 3-18 years old and unfortunately,at their young age they already experienced being raped by their relatives or fathers.,if i will be rich someday,i would finance the expenses in pursuing their cases and at the same time, provide for their needs necessary for their development..

I will definitely do it. Of course, with the consideration of helping my relatives and my community first. And then moving on to extend help to others and inspire people to do the same.

I would build a home and a school to teach work-skills for the poor and the orphans. Giving the 'fish' would just be a short term solution. Eventually it's giving the 'fishing rod' and teaching them the skills 'to fish' would be the long term solutions.
