Its another achievement by the little master in his life but not in cricket. SACHIN TENDULKAR,GR CAPTAIN,INDIAN AIR FORCE. Yes sachin has been given the honorary GROUP CAPTAIN post in Indian Air Force.

I am not such a great fan of such honorary postings. I think Sachin is a great cricketer and a role model. But he is definitely not a group captain of the Indian Air Force for me. What do you expect of him? In case of a war, do you expect him to fly a Sukhoi into the enemy territory!! I find such postings as ridiculous at time. May be you can confer on him a doctrate of cricket title, but this is a bit overboard!! Cheers! Ram

Sachin in a interview has said that working for india and that too in indian air force is his passion. Why not? In case of war not only Sachin but every indian should be ready and come forward to face it. For me he has to honored with BHARAT RATNA award for his contribution to the world of cricket and has given us such a immense pleasure and proud for nation.

I do not disagree on the point of Bharat Ratna. But to serve the country you need not be a Group Captain in the Air Force. Different jobs require different capabilities and should not be ignored!! Just because Sachin is performing well in cricket you cannot go on and make him the Prime Minister of India can you? I think that is what is missing in such honorary titles!! Cheers! Ram
