I'm just wondering what is normal and what is not. My father use to say act normal. The big question is what is normal? Is the action of the majority what make it normal? Is culture normal? I mean in other part of the world their will always be a people that do things that we considered taboo or not normal. .. In my country one company does not hire people with tattoo. No matter how small. Is it not normal to have a tattoo? What other example can you share?

Normal means the majority does it. Abnormal means weird. Insane means not sane. Sane means sound mind, which is usually reasonable thinking. If you don't see it daily then it is weird or not normal. Acting normal in the context that it was used by your father I think means to act more like everyone or basically conform to things so you don't look weird. Use your brain it is simple.

Its seem your the one who don't use your brain at all. Because you really don't get what I'm talking about. Read my post again. And maybe you can get some pointers. Here is an example. In Tibet if you have brothers you share wife/s. Now imagine if theirs ten brothers and one get married. Now that woman has 10 husbands in instant. In their culture its normal. But it does not mean its normal in yours.

What culture do you exactly belong in? Do you know? because I'm lost at what your point is. First, your title says what is the border between normal and insanity, I explained that. Second, you are wondering what normal is, so I answered that as well so I can provide some of my knowledge to you. Third, is that you ask is culture normal? I think I missed that one. Here's my take on that question: when you do something out of your culture that might be taboo, of course it will be weird. Let's say you cannibalized and that is normal to the head hunters but in your culture it's not. People would find you weird because it isn't a normal thing to do and mostly not everyone accepts that kind of action. Let's say you went to US and you ate a dog, they will find you gross, weird, but they will respect you as their culture is multicultural unlike in some countries. Then you gave an example of a job qualification which is related to what? A company looks for things that will benefit them, so if a tattoo is a turn off to their business it is normal to make it part of the list of things they avoid. Use your brain again, maybe you'll learn from your mistakes this time. Did you get mad when I said "use your brain it is simple"? Or any emotion at all when you read it?

Simply because you take the title and the content of my thread literally. Its like asking what is the taste of his coffee. And you will answer the sugar is sweet, the cream is some how tasteless and the coffee granule taste bitter. But the question asked is the taste of the coffee not the ingredients. .. .. Mad? Why will I be mad? Is your mind guilty of something? I'm just elaborating more and maybe you can connect to the topic at hand. But its useless to have a conversation with you if you think outside the topic at hand.

I think it's easy to differentiate between what is being normal and what is insane. There are scientific ways to determine whether a person is sane or not. what is hard to determine is what is normal and what is not. The "what is not" don't necessarily mean insane. It could simply mean outrageous. Culture plays a big factor since it is what defines the norm. What you're referring to in your example is what i classify as outrageous since it is more of a company policy than our culture in general. I can't blame the employers if they would insist of such policy because having a tattoo would in some ways portray someone as having a "bad az" attitude, it could sound cool to some but it could intimidate others too. But personally i wouldn't be comfortable shopping in a mall where its employees have tattoos on them.

I'm sure the owner/s of that resort are not members of Yakuzas. As portrayed in the movies, yakuza's are fond of getting tattoos all over their body. But just a thought, what if a real yakuza wants to be member of that golf club? now, that would be a lot of trouble.

hahaha.. Yakuza can't play golf. lolz. Just imagine a group of thirty or so tattooed guys playing golf. Yeah, gold is about serenity while playing. I don't have tattoo but I admire people who have (as an art). But I also don't think its appropriate to play in golf with tattoo in your whole body. And even if you hide it. You can't keep in forever right?

hahaha.. I can't imagine either.I'm an open minded person. But I do agree. Theirs also a golf course I think in Japan that reject to give membership to a tattoo person. that person sue that golf course. Guess what happened? That person loss the case. Simply because of a simple argument. Golf is a gentleman's game. And seeing a tattoo in your hand and feet make other loss concentration. .. Now imagine that. Maori tribes can't play golf because of their tattoos. lols.

Insanity are those who have short circuit in their brains. They don't appreciate the beauty of nature and do not agree to many things that normal humans do. They chose to believe in their own ideology. There is nothing wrong with tattoo as it is only an art and a form of fashion. But some people see it as an unhealthy culture to have a tattooed picture in others. They need to adopt a more liberal thinking in accepting the world fast moving trends.

Actually tattoo is an ancient art of body painting. But still its taboo in many countries. Especially some first world country. I think many connect tattoo to criminals, or tribes that they don't realize the art value of it. They see tattoo as dirty looks. A disgrace to our perfect body. But to does who have a tattoo its simply means they are a walking canvas.
