Love and Heart

hmm.... this is an absolutely random question that popped in my head right now.
it is absolutely clear that love is completely mental stuff (disorder . lol)
but how did it so happen that people started crediting the HEART for this stuff? how did heart get related to love? i just wonder

bcs its our heart that feel pain when we get angry with that guy we care about. at least me when im too sad with a guy i like my heart always feel pain :( also people say is their heart bcs many people say their heart beats fast when they see the guy they love ahah i just feel a bit nervous and my heart beats fast like when argue and he will like leave. thats why i guess heart is related to love^^ bcs is our heart that makes us feel love for someone i guess^^ bcs we dont control what we feel^^ our head can control but our heart cant^^

Maybe it's the warm feeling that you get with your heart, and the beating of your heart when you feel some strong feelings for someone. When you touch him the first time, the first kiss, the boring day just being spent with him yet you feel that you are calm and complete.
The happiness you feel inside your heart when you see him. No words can express the emotion you feel within your heart when you are in love with someone. Most especially when you find out that he loves you back the same way.
I think these relates love and the heart.
