I always dream to become a lawyer becauce they alway get good pay, they are spem respected people in the society. They make big money with their clients and of course they dress well, live in good houses and drive around in flashy cars. How do lawyers in your area live? Are they same as I have just described? And do you ever wanted to be a lawyer? I always pressured my daughter to be a lawyer now may become this fatasy!@

It is also my dream to become a lawyer but I think that would not happen anymore because as of now I have lots of priorities...Financial also one of my consideration to pursue that dream.. but for now the needs of my family is the most important than my dream. Maybe if I have enough money I could make that dream come true...

Are you talking about yourself or about me. This exactly what I am facing. Finance - for children's education than my own and age is catching up with me. I do not have the desire to go back to school again.

Really interesting. I too wanted to become a lawyer myself in my younger days.My father worked as a clerk under a lawyer. From my younger days I used to accompany my father to his office and to court and keenly observe things there. When I grew up I could not study law due to financial difficulties and as my father was a poor lawyer's clerk he could not maintain a family of 10 of us. Therefore I gave up the idea and took a job. As I had a flare for law I did complete my law degree during the course of service. Law degree also helped in discharging my duties as tax administrater.Really to be a lawyer is wonderful not because of their earning prospects but the work they do. The get justice done for their clients which gives immense satisfaction in life. They are respected in society. In earlier days in England and India only lawyers were considered as learned men. Therefore even today we find in judgments they are referred to as learned counsel. In no other profession the word "learned" is used. It is a noble profession. In India where I live very few lawyers make money.I wish all of them make good money.

Interesting story. You had inspiration from your dad. Remember your law history, before in England, the cardinals were chancellors, they were lawyers and interpretating law until law as a branch of social science developed. So in fact lawyer are called as learned so as theologians etc. But they are often called that title. It is good for place like India where lawyers do not make big money. In my country they make lots of money. But again it is good work, They can bring justice and they too can corrupt the judical system with their legal logic. Are lawyers lairs, their books says no. They never lie, but they lie logical within law which may seem to us (non laywers) as lies. But still as evidence they too sometimes, I think lie in the literal sense. Am I correct to think and assess lawyers that way? But you are lawyer than I wish you all the best, I want my dauther to be one.

Hi Jak, My youngest daughter is a lawyer but she chose to be a judge. She lives in a nice house she is paying and has a normal car. I think in many professions there are people who get rich and others who donĀ“t. In my country there are some lawyers just as you describe them, but I would not want to be friends with most of them. I respect people for what they are and not for what they have although I must agree that it is nice to have some extra money once in a while. But honestly, I think that people who can have everything they want are not more happier. By the way, I sent you a private mail and maybe you can earn some money online. Take care!

You are luck person, I want to someday be like you watch my daughter practice law. Yes, there some crook lawyers, but it really a good job. I saw your priavte mail, thank you and I replied. I will start these sites as soon as my paypal account is fixed. I have an unverifed account, but my earnings sometimes do not get into the account and I think it must have something to do with where I am living.

Lawyers do make a lot of money. I am not sure how respected they are judging by all the negative lawyer jokes around. I would much rather be a doctor.

It depnds, but lawyers need doctors and likewise doctors need lawyers. You choose medicine as honourable and I respect that. Lawyer is also a noble job, but it depends how lawyers themselves portrary to people. All the best if you still want to be Dr.

I wish you great success in your dreams of becoming a lawyer one day. it is a respected and valued profession to aspire to. If being a lawyer was as good as it is in the movies, I would fantasize about being a lawyer sometimes too.

Thanks for your compliment. I cannot now become a lawyer because my children take priority in my life and it worth sending them to school than myself. Second, it is age. I just do not feel excited to go back to school. You can as young person plan and may be one day you can become a lawyer. Good luck my friend.

In our country, somelawyers enjoy the money, and prestige... But, there's still a lot without jobs, without clients... There are a lot of opportunities, but not all opportunities offer a lucrative pay. And, considering that the school tuition fees are a whole lot cheaper than that of other countries, every year a lot of lawyers get added to the population. The percentage of lawyers having the big money, nice clothes, good house and fancy cars are the really hot shot ones, those corporate lawyers with big companies, those who were born into a wealthy family in the first place, those who really work hard, and the rest? scums who milk their clients, or public servants whose ways are shady. But, I bet that in first world countries, being a lawyer is quite good.

This is informative to me. Lawyers in my country get rich overnight in their first year of practice. I can see the difference. Out o f the 5 universities we have only one offer law course so there are less lawyers in my country and the demand is to high. For examnple, a leagal advice from a top lawyer in my country would be around 350 $ US per hours. They reap people off to. If we have many lawyers that rate will come down as your country and we will not have problems with these lawyers.

My dad wanted to be a lawyer. So he put himself in night school trying to be one. Unfortunately, life got in the way. He had to bring up me and my brother and sister. So his dream was transferred to my sister. She just passed the bar and is trying on her practice. I'd say the established and experienced ones are just as you described. But this is not to say that there aren't sleazy ones too.
