Do you really trust God?

United States

We see In God We Trust on currency in the United States yet I wonder sometimes if we really do in fact trust in God for anything... If you trust God, in what ways do you demonstrate that trust in God? What do you do to prove that you trust in God? Do you still stress out when the check is due and has not yet come, or when someone is ill whom you love, or when there is some other crisis, large or small, in your life? How does the trust in God help you deal with life situations better? (Provide examples please) What do you do because you trust in God? How do you act differently than if you did not trust in God?

Of course.I really, really trust God for without Him,I am nothing.I am thankful that God gave me life wherein I learned how to trust,to love, have courage and everything.. I have proven my trust in GOD in a way that I pray, worship, love and believe in HIM.For example, when I encounter so much problems & trials in life,I just pray and have the courage to face those consequences in life because I know HE will help me in times when I'm in need.Through this,I have proven that GOD had existed..

Hi whiteheron, I am guilty as charged in that I do get stressed out and worry at such times, especially when a loved one is ill. Blessings.

Thanks for responding Pose123, I also get stressed out and worry sometimes, especially when loved ones are ill, and when I have something happening which appears threatening to me in some way... Yet I have a feeling that both of us have some faith and hope that good will occur for the most part. Blessings to you too.

Oh my god. When god fails, science sets in, then technology becomes the product. That's how I think technology came about. You know. In the old days, Americans probably did not think of this and relied mostly in god's capabilities, and without realizing they become more sophisticated and what they are now. Now, religion is starting to decay and people now worship technology in the form of money. Money will buy technology that will solve their problems. But when all else fails they pray in hope for god to help them out and then when something occurs it becomes a miracle until science proves it again. Back to your questions. I don't demonstrate my trust in god. I go to church every Sunday and that might be considered trusting god but not for me, it's simply a conformity and a place for me to relax, doze off the world, and feel slightly different. When I was a kid, my dad got paralyzed and all my family and relatives were praying for his recovery. I didn't know what to do so I prayed, because I didn't want him to leave this earth yet, I was thinking that it would be hard for my mom to be a single parent. My dad recovered eventually and my relatives told people that it was a miracle. Then science kicked in and the disease was called GBS, and the illness was rare but the description fits. Then I begin to doubt god. But I believe god, even with explanation of science desperate times help people live, it helps people have the will power to recover. Praying only occurred in my mind not shown in public.

It is interesting to see what happens when one does not have much money to fall back on and when one can not purchase more technology. When the chips are down, one does tend to fall back on things that perhaps were abandoned in childhood, and one of these is often faith. I am glad that your father recovered... I firmly believe that the prayers do help and there is some research that does point to this fact. (I will be talking in another discussion about the opposing research and why it was very flawed... the language of the prayers used invalidated the study.) There are those who are in high level sciences who have faith because they discover that which is unexplainable even to them... Thank you for your post.

I trust God with all my heart and with all of my being.., There's no question about it.., I believe in Him without seeing Him.., and despite the pains that I have to go through in Life.., It never occurred to me to question His existence..

In what practical ways do you trust God. I know that you believe in God but how to you show that you trust in God... They are different things. Thanks for your response.
