Everyone has been Posting about the Quran all week. I was just wondering if they would remember to honor those christians, Muslims, Jews, and those of no faith who died on September 11th. That is what it should really be about. Not more hatred, but honoring the dead and the families who are still suffering from their losses. Sometimes we get confused and have to get back on track don't we... Shalom~Adoniah

Oh laglen, something else we have in common! You're going to make me feel bad the next time I have to disagree with you about something.

I remember that day well. I woke up and saw a plane flying into the second tower. I thought it must be some movie or something. It was one of the worst events in American History. Those who hate kill indiscriminately. Young, old, black, white, yellow, every religion you can name...none if it matters. They were all human beings, and they were all slaughtered. I heard on TV last night that there is a debate about whether or not to teach American clidren about what happened that day. I definitely think they should, In fact, how could they not? It's part of the history of the USA and the world and it changed life forever.

You should see what is in our kids history books today..or rather what is not in our school books today. It is a disgrace. I took my youngest daughter out of school and did home school partly because of the history books. Even the Community College had blatant errors in their Entrance Exam. It is bizarre that they get away with this...The longer they do, the easier it is to continue because more and more generations just don't know any better. Folks just don't check to see if it is true. At one time, all of the High Schools in Fl. showed Schindler's List as part of their program and then suddenly it was banned. I always wondered who made that possible.... Shalom~Adoniah

probably nothing more sinister than not wanting to upset the kids. however by the time they get to high school they should know that history can be horrific.

I think a lot of people wish that they could forget 9/ll but that will never happen and no matter what is done why is there so much loss in the world today.. This will be burned in our minds for ever just like where you were when a President is shoot or a Senator is killed......I still remember today what I was doing when JFK was killed........and look how long that has been..... When is all this going to stop.......You don't need to burn any holy book or kill people to make a point.......It's so stupid to even think that way.....

I do not think that it should ever be forgotten just as the Holocaust and other awful things should never be forgotten. Shalom~Adoniah

Thanks Shalom for posting an equilibrium state of discussion between the Sept. 11 and Quran burning issue. 9/11 also a day for netizens across the globe to think about it.

Yes that is what this was meant to be. A quiet time to reflect on what we should be thinking about on the 11th. Shalom~Adoniah

Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Jews, atheists....are only labels that "humans" are tagged as religiously....My heart goes out to all those who suffered on that particular day and also the ones who are suffering even today as a aftermath. I remember even today after 9 years...the guys who were jumping out of windows of the twin towers....tears steam down my face even today...think what would they would have felt jumping off the windows....yes, tears do stream down my face even today....

Sunipaul, the only reason I used those "labels" was because there has been so many Posts on MyLot this week referring to the burning of the Quran and these "labels". It was a Horrific day filled with Human suffering all over the world. The whole world suffered with us. There was an outpouring of sympathy and love sent to us from everywhere. For a while the World was One. I wish that it could have lasted... Shalom~Adoniah

Adoniah...it WILL never come...this world as "one"...politics and religion DO NOT gel well, and this is going to be the cause for the destruction of our world....The sympathy and love usually does not last long in these "systems"...AND it will not...that when the world ends..."labels" will take this world down in the near future....oh! IF I could have made a difference.....Only IF I could....but there are people like YOU who make the difference...yes...you do...

Our flag is at half mast today and so it the flag at the courthouse in town...like it is every year on this day. I agree with you, Adoniah, today is a day to remember and honor the memories of those who perished on that day.
