well, once you have such wonderful talent especially in england, your life will certainly come under scrutiny and will be on the watch on every journalist out there.. being a footballer there and being successful at that, will make you a superstar there.. so to say respect your privacy is like saying that to a group of paparazzis and you are the hollywood star.. but you need to see also see what had he done.. and if you are involve in controversies like he is now, it will be pretty hard to ignore it.. you might not know it, but kids look up to athletes or football players especially talented people like rooney.. so people will definitely be interested.. however, i do feel sorry for him and whatever happens, i hope he learnt from his mistakes and move on to become a better individual..

Naturally he wants privacy now!! I mean he did not think about these things before committing the indiscretion. In fact, now he is the third English player in the current team after Ashley Cole and John Terry to get involved in such activities. I do understand that players need their privacy and that should be appreciated, but that does not mean that they can continue to get involved in such indiscretion. I think such players should be sacked from the national sides else they will lead to further players getting into such muck. Cheers! Ram

Rooney has not been dropped from the team because it's his fault. He was dropped from the Man Utd squad because the boss was protecting him from Everton fans. Rooney will be back and I'm quite sure his England matches will not be affected. Nobody in England will say anything to him when he's wearing the England shirt.

Nophie often in such situations it looks a very difficult decision. But then the choice in front of you is current team or future generations of team. You sometimes have to take a tough decision to set the right examples. I think the JT situation really affected the English squad during the world cup and Capello mishandled the situation. Cheers! If Rooney is really so concerned about the mental state of his wife and his family, he should not have done what he did. It is pointless to ask the media to respect his privacy and he goes around the commit adultery behind the wife's back.
