Hmmm.. As far as I have heard or read in some instances, we dream because during sleep, that's when our subconscious is most active and we get to think and imagine about different kinds of things that we seem to be pondering on but, we simply don't focus as much when we are awake. Sometimes, when we just keep such emotions to ourselves, they suggest themselves in our dreams and as others would say, our dreams are what we really desire but, reality just doesn't let us fulfill them too easily. Then again, that statement is a bit flawed since we also do get nightmares and surely, nightmares are dreams that we really don't want to happen at all in our reality. In my case, I only get to dream when my body is fully resting and my mind drifts into its subconscious state but, it doesn't happen as much as I would like to. Most of my dreams, if you can call them dreams, are just plain black. Perhaps my body didn't get to a very comfortable or relaxing state in which case it didn't let my mind go wonder off into fantasy. (^_^")

In my opinion, sleep is what recharges our mental batteries, so to speak, and the information we were not able to categorize and successfully store during the day, due to our many activities, is automatically processed during sleep. Most of our dreams go unheeded, but when there is some sort of conflict that the dream cannot resolve on its own, then we become dimly aware of it and our semi-conscious mind tries to help. That is a normal dream, but there is another kind of dream that is extremely vivid and those are the ones that can be prophetic. Many times I have had a dream and then later, sometimes within a day or two but often ten or fifteen years later, the thing happens just as I had dreamed it. Those do not make much sense at the time, but they become meaningful later. I hope all your dreams are happy ones.

It's a sign or warning... or maybe you remembering something that can't remember when you're awake...

It is the other half of reality, the other side.

What I know is that we dream because there are things that we think before we sleep or something that bothers us or the thing we are trying know or to solve in our life. Sometimes it's the dream to be rich or invent or have a good job in the future.
