Do you think that fame and fortune are important in life?

It has been said that those who achieve fame, fortune, position or power in life often find that something is still lacking. When we learn more about their lives, we find that only a few have weathered the storms of life as well as the ordinary man or women raising a family on an average income. Problems with the law, suicide, unfaithfulness to their partner, unruly children, are all as much and often more prevalent among the rich and famous. Why than are so many seeking it?

We can not deny, that almost every human being is always chasing fame, position and wealth. Moreover, an age right now, even they often do not fair to reach it. But we need to realize that this is not the most important thing in life. Not a few people who have abundant wealth, high position and great fame in his family life destroyed precisely because they do not have emotional control. Elsewhere there are also people whose lives are simple, adequate income and do not have the fame but these people have families and relatives are harmonious and peaceful. , in this life is very desirable for emotional control in our lives can be calm, think we should always share with the people people around us so they always help us deal with problems in life

....there are times that for us normal citizen or people who is in the not so high-status in the society, we used to think what it will be like to have that much fame or achievement..we were influence by what we saw in the television or magazines or radio which for all we know are mostly focusing on the bright and good side of having that much fame..we are thrilled and interested about what will it be like if we were on the same status without realizing the greater risk and the more confusing choices that is presented to us...it's not wrong to dream of the star so long as we are prepared for every consequences that might come our way in reaching and achieving it and right after we reached it..

Hi savypat, I agree with you, we are all traveling our own path and we all need to experience happiness. Some will need to existence it in fame and fortune or position and power. I feel that those of us who never know either have an easier time. Thanks for your response. Blessings.

yes i agree for some people it is important but not on some as they do not live on lavish living and already contented on what they have right now

Hiya pose,
Fame and fortune important? Well they could be to a point. If you have the staying power to see it all through could be a very positive thing.
All depends on you in the end whatever and whichever way you become famous. You have to be able to handle situations that I suppose might not arise if you had not been famous.
Things like handling Fans that try to get into your House and things like that.
All the other kind of things can happen to ordinary People anyway famous or not.
That´s the way I see it at least.
Good and bad abound on all levels of life.
A poor Family can easily have five children that grow up to do bad things even if they are good to them and bring them up right too.

Hi lovinangelsinstead, Thank you for coming here and sharing your thoughts on this subject. Fame and fortune are not something that interest me and I honestly believe that those who experiece it have a more difficult time in life. I'm not saying that such people can't find happiness and peace of mind, but it it's easier for those of us who don't have to worry about such things. Blessings.

Hiya pose,
They always say that they are happy don´t they those People with fame and money but they never really seem it to me. It´s as if they are hankering after some kind of peace and quiet that only us mere mortals get. We might not be as well off as they are but we do have more peace of mind in many ways than what they do I think.

Fame is not important to me. Fortune is good and anyone wishes to have money and lead a good life, full of comfort and to manage to buy what you wish. But these things are irrelevant when compared to love and affection and above all good health.
May the people who have fame and lots of money keep inmind those who are less fortuate, dying from hunger and suffering. These people are jsut like them, children of the same God and so they need to be helped.

I don't think that at all. Fame and fortune motivate greed and selfishness. If people were more confident in who they already were, and only worked to do their best, not achieve fame and fortune, the world would be a much better place.

I don't think fame and fortune are necessarily important in life, but a lot of people generally seek it in order to feel some type of fulfillment and satisfaction in their lives. For me, personally, fame is something that I generally don't concern myself with. I fee that what matters most is that we do the things we love and want to do, and that we spend our time developing skills needed for success.

Fame and fortune are nice things to aspire to. it gives you a goal to set your mind to. i don't really think that achieving fame and fortune is the important ingredients of life. Love, happiness and personal success are much more important! @petersum (4522)

I think all of us want these things but few ever achieve them. I have had a little position as you call it but without the fame and fortune. Being rich takes away the limitations of life, or most people believe that to be the case. But in fact, it isn't true. Fame and fortune create new limitations that ordinary people don't realize. Pressure, tension, depression are found in all walks of life. Human nature makes us want for that which we haven't got!

Hi petersum, Thank you for those words of wisdom. It appears that we are always seeking that which we don't have, and as you say it's human nature. An old English rhythm goes "the world is so full of a number of things, I'm sure we should all be as happy as kings". Today I wonder just how happy those kings and queens really were, even though everyone at the time it was written, probably felt that they were. I feel that being rich would just creates more problems. Blessings.

Fame and fortune are really important in life,at least i think so now.You could do whatever you wanna do,and many people will take you as a model.It is so exciting to be admired and respected,and could show your big value to the world.No doubt there is problems exsisting like what you said,but i don't think every wealthy family has similar issues.It is the media's amplification leads to this result that many people think the problems are plentiful.In fact,the problems are not more sirious than ordinary families.

Fame and fortune do not mean that you are happy. Yes, having a little more money would make my life easier, but I would not know what to do with my life if I had so much money that I did not have to work. I enjoy my work. I like my house. I have a good marriage, and a happy, healthy child. I have good friends to spend my time with. why would I want to be famous and jeopardize all of that?
