Teacher killed by Student coz of THE HAIR

Philippines

that's what happens when a boy keeps too much of useless anger in his heart. This teacher only wanted and reminded HIM to cut his hair since it's against rules to have a LOng hair. isn't that simple or hard to do? what's with the hair anyways, he just destroyed his future knowing that he couldn't listen to even a simple instruction. but based on the news, he killed her teacher out of paranoia when he heard a rumor that he's drop out. which is not true. Thank God my mom has retired already. I remember her back in school to be a lot worse than this teacher. when i heard rumors that elementary students there are forming fraternities and gangs. that's when i felt the sign of relief, that she's no longer teaching. Children now a days

Yup! I watch this news on GMA news, my friend. That is the effect of joining fraternity in younger age. They don't respect human lives and acted like they are king in the street, those young people... This is a failure of educating them. Because there is a subject in the school about values...but what happen? I think the teachers, should do more to teach values to all the students. To avoid this happen again...The worse case is that the deped...rust to see the kids. They should not do it immediately so that the kid did not think that he's doing is good because there are people understand him in what he does to his victim... They should study first the behavior of the kids and do some measure to emphasize to him. That the crimes he has committed is murder and results to life imprisonment. Not saying that he must stay in the DSWD, because he is young and not knowing in wat he did... Have a great day!

You know my friend, education is not about money this is about service. If those teachers, always complaining that they have low salaries or lack of benefits...the result is terrible education in the part of the students. Money is not the issue in my point of view but performance and dedication on their jobs as a teachers. Money is only a part of their services, to provide good educations for those kids. I know that budget for education is low. But it is sufficient enough to salaried teachers. But the bad thing is that they corrupt the other budget instead to set aside for the training of the training of the teachers and other materials that school needs to accomplish... If you conduct a visitation to every schools. You will see that there are some repairs that never start. This is not because of lack of budget, but due to corruptions that always been a problems in our society. Budget should be reimburse for trainings to enhance the capability of the teachers...Because most of the teachers did not cope up the advancement of technology as we go further in educating the kids and the youth... We don't blame those people in the rural areas. We must blame those people in the government that should be protecting the rights and education of those people to avoid any for them to be criminals... have a great day!

Hello Aerous, Well, you gotta admit, the budget for education is undoubtly low. they are underpaid but over worked. they tried their best to teach even though there's just too many students around. if only there's sufficient number of teaCHERS to do that, bu there isn't. I am sure he will regret what he did. this is just too horrible for most people in the rural or poor areas, they just give in to such short anger.

hi letran such hatered thats so awful. I think a lot of the violence now done by teensis because they have watched so much violence on tv that they are inured to p;ain and suffering. and just look at any action they take out of anger as just part of the movie. I think they take their anger and completely detach themselves from realty and act out scenes of violence like they have seen in movies. I am also glad your own mom is no longer teaching as its becoming a dangerous place in which to work.

Hello hatley, yeah, that's what happen when angers starts, your emotions take over and then lost the sense of reasoning. yeah, my mom has retired. although, she actually regret at some point because of low income that were having. but am glad she did, so that she won't be in trouble for future students.

And to think that the boy even went to school after stabbing the teacher. I cannot understand his logic. He thought that he was expelled because of his hair. Granting the same to be true, did he think that killing the teacher would erase the expulsion? Such useless killings. My brother was watching a show discussing the case. I overheard someone say that the child was neglected by his parents. I don't know about this, but he sure makes a good case for genetic defect.

Hello the advocate, dared went to school?! as if the whole community would be afraid of him for doing just that. he just lost his future there, am sure it's going to be hell before he recovers and regret what he has done to that poor teacher. No, i don't think it would erase anything. thus, it made it worse. i don't think he was neglected, the parents or relatives did say that if he ever had a problem, just tell them..but surely he didn't.

Yes I've heard the news on the radio just recently and it's really sad to know that. I'm also a teacher and it's painful for me because I understand how it feels to have such student. All we want as the second parents of these learners is to "mold their personality" to give them a better future.

Hello Abish, Yes, i am so proud that there's a teacher like you here in mylot. i don't think he has any excuse at all most specially when he killed a harmless and defenseless teacher who what you said just wants to mold their personality to create a better future. i feel sad for those students who ruined their future.

Ow jesus, poor teacher. Well that rumour must have put the child into shock, and triggered him into thinking that it's because of the said teacher and his haircut. He could have tried to confirm it though first.
• Philippines
18 Sep 10
misalax, well, he's stupid, he could have asked the principal or other teachers if he was indeed dropped. but base on the news, it was just use to scare students into going back to school. but still even though he was dropped, he has no right to do that to his teacher at all.

there actually a lot of this kind of kids. trouble is that some of them get to have guts because they joined the gangs or immature fraternities.

I do not believe that is the only reason why the teacher got killed because that is so shallow. Maybe there is something happened before that lead to it. There is a reason behind. Only a person who are not in their normal state are the ones who kill something like that. I was shocked too, if that is only the reason for killing someone then this world is not a safe place anymore. People are getting meaner and shallow, as if the nutrients from food do not take place in the brain.

Hello Grecy, Well, it was mentioned that this person was told that he got dropped from school. usually, it was used to scare students to study more. but now it seemed to have provoke them further more. poverty is rising here in our country and that made it really dangerous.

That is incredible! Teaching has now become a dangerous profession! I hear of metal detectors being placed in high schools to ensure no weapons are taken inside. It is scary and I have to wonder how it will be ten or twenty years from now; will the teachers have to be trained in self-defence? How sad this teacher was killed over a haircut, what a sad waste…
• Philippines
21 Sep 10
Hello paula, Yes, it is, most specially for closed minded students. well, that's a good idea i think, teaching teachers self defense can at least give 50+ percent survival assurance for teachers to fight against enemy elements. but what struck me here is that a student had done this and it's terrible.

Yea, children nowadays are kind of, out of their minds. Ok, that's a little bit too much of thinking too out of the box. Never mind students. Look at people nowadays and you'll know why students are becoming like this. People nowadays are becoming more and more impatient and irritated at every single thing. Reason? The advancement in technology and the efficiency of everything. Something slows down and there they go, starting to throw their temper. This is what explains.

Hello JudgeIronfirst, yes, some how i think technology had something to do with the current generation. with out it, they could have lived the way we do. too bad, these innovators doesn't understand the consequences of their actions. some people now a days doesn't even consider going to an old fashioned library for research and instead go to wikipedia for answers.

Based on the news I read, the boy was a member of a renown (or notorious depending on your point of view) fraternity. This boy is obviously unstable, and I know based on experiences when I was in high school up to college, that people who join fraternities tend to develop a bully mentality. If they feel they get offended, they have to "resbak" else they wont get the respect they crave from their frat brothers. My own personal frightening encounters with one of these "frating galit" people was in high school they regularly asks money from other students. If you unfortunately gazed long enough at one of them, they will approach you and ask you why you are staring and if you want trouble. In college, I have seen how these fratricidal dudes gang up on rival fraternity members. One time, a visiting frat dude got killed and I heard nobody got caught.

Hello Greenpeas, Well, that explains it. he doesn't even deserve to be student, how can he learn if he only does his own way. that's one thing and one reason why i hate fraternities so much there. i don't think they deserve to have fraternities. i remember old people telling me that fraternities aren't always about fighting, they were also programs involved and debates. but not always fighting.

Why the hell someone want to cut hair for this student? It is totally on his opinion if he will wear it long or no. So that every girls in that school must have short hair? And if this dont apply to girls then why it applies to boys? This is the strangest rule I have hear about. If I´ve have long hair I will not cut it too. Yes that he killed the teacher is very bad idea but what was they awaiting? School have strange rules, than they have strange reactions.

Hello Loktibrad, This person is a GUY, and it's a NO NO for some one who is studying in school. well, he could have not followed it, that's pure and simple, but killing the teacher for that is way too much. i, don't think would even agree to that. he just lost it for sure.

Gone were the days when, we teachers, were seen as second parents. When I was in high school our teachers can shout at us, send us out of the classroom, throw an eraser at us. All of these, when we think about it, had very good reasons. We were not listening, not doing our assignments, etc. Our school then has a policy of issuing warning papers with a corresponding deduction to conduct when we do not have the proper haircut. Discipline with some youngsters today has gone down the drain. One time, our neighbor's teenage boy had his birthday party and there was a videoke machine. One of the guest either pushed the wrong combination or deliberately did it by selecting our national anthem. They sang it as if they are in a heavy metal band. I wanted reprimand them but I thought of Bantay Bata! Do you think that Bantay Bata has something to do with how children are raised today, or the adage "monkey see, monkey do" holds true?

This news is really morbid. That boy must either be psychologically ill or simply plain evil. Take care of your mom, Knight!

hello Letran, This is really shocking, all becoz of hair? what the h*ck. Well, maybe the boy has a lot of hatred in his heart, not only to the teacher but to people around him. It just happened that, the worst scenario was with his teacher, and that triggers his anger. I hope this will be a lesson to everyone. What a waste of life, and a life to be wasted (poor boy)

Hello Sis, I hope learn his lesson really hard, i hope DSWD won't let this man go unless he really focus on making it up to his mistakes in bars. i don't know where is the hatred coming from but it's just too much and he's just too immature perse. i pity him but at least the teacher did her job.

I know this is bad but I find it funny. Teacher askes kid to cut hair, teacher gets cut instead. I dont really know how she was killed but I picture a pair of hair cutting scissors *shrugs My mom used to substitute, but I think moms safe from angry students. Actually everyone loved her.

Hello there, I don't think it's funny at all. would you be considering it funny if in case you're mom got stabbed just because of a reminder. i guess it's hard to tell when you're in the comfort zone and never got into that kind of situation. you do know this is a sensitive discussion?

What a shocking incident! So terrifying. Teachers could be a scary profession. I remember when I was in school about classmates and rumors. I have seen lots of teachers cry just because of their students. I have seen my naughtiest classmate arguing with the teacher. I have also heard a rumor about one teacher who was followed at her home with some sick parent threatening her not to fail his son in school. I pity teachers. All they want is that their class listens and follows their every direction so that their students can excel in class. I know, they don't want to fail a student. I also pity students under some bad/terror teacher. It is also a teacher factor why students are anxious, fail or lose interest in a subject. Some teachers are also not true to themselves and others. They are just make up teachers. I have some experiences in college.

Hello Ktmatunog, Not to mention they don't get the right amount of pay that they worked solely for the benefit of the students. all the teachers want to help the students learn and graduate, how hard can it be for them to realize that. am glad i didn't join gangs here and there. yes, some teachers are imperfect but we must understand that they are paid low compare to other jobs. it's something this administration should take care of.

Hello Hannah10, Indeed he has, i mean holding a grudge is reasonable but taking life because of that, that is so low. i believe it's really nothing that bad if you consider following the rules, that's why you're in school in the first place and not everything else.
