Has anyone read the Kushiel Books by Jacqueline Carey?

I love this series. It has a lot of twists and turns and some very unusual characters. I love how descriptive and inventive Carey is. Has anyone else read these books? If you have what is your opinion of the subject and writing style?

I have read the first two or three in the series, I have been meaning to go back and re-read the series and read the newer books. I quite enjoy the characters in these novels, although the subject matter might be a bit much for some, but I think it is a very interesting concept. I quite enjoy Carey's writing style and imagination.

You really should go back and read them... The originals are by far the best... Everything that comes after is okay but seriously the first few are the best... I agree that they are too much for a lot of people. I was 17 when I read the first one. Probably should have waited a few more years. Can you suggest other books I might like?
