Yes I agree with you. here is no standards defined. Politicians are busy in doing only their job. And also they don’t care about citizens. Engineers are going to join banks. Civil engineer is getting selected in IT companies. Every thing is topsy torvy. I am a developer by education and profession but IT companies are looking for a science graduate or Mechanical engineer over me. What the hell they have made.

ohhh you understand me better I think I totally agree with you doctors are working callcentres and basic certificate holders are treating patients Software developers are idle and civil Engineers r finding jobs in TOP software companies so job situation in India is grim and trim I believe India can end up in Civil war in year or two or may be sooner if such situation continues since country whose top educated youth is unemployed is at big risk I hope someday our politicians will wake up and start doing the job they r meant to do instead of fighting each other ...... Actually, I think there are three things contributing to underemployment in India. 1) In many areas of India, young people are not getting the education they need to get better jobs. In a lot of places, the schools are available; but, there is a high level of truancy. If people do not have good educations they cannot get good jobs. 2) Women in India. Lack of education, encouraged (or forced) to marry instead of entering the workforce, encouraged to have children at an early age, and limited "acceptable" types of employment for them. The Indian government is currently trying to get families to delay having children as soon as they marry; but, the older generation is too blind to realize that is a good thing. If women were expected to enter the workforce, educated to college level, and encouraged to enter all fields of employment; it would provide a major boost to India's economy and reduce the poverty that keeps many people in a status of "underemplyment". 3) Lack of entrepreneurs and small business funding. One of the best ways to fight underemployment is to have individuals start their own businesses. India needs more people doing this and they need more startup funding for these small businesses to help them get started. People are more satisfied with their jobs when they are earning a living in a business they start themselves.

Unemployment can cause unwanted situations everywhere. India isn't the only country having economic problems. Those who are not happy with their jobs should be happy that they have a job.

I think it doesnt happen only in India. We also have underemployment here in the Philippines. There are a lot of people underemployed and sad to say I am one of them. And the manager of the company where I work for is also underemployed.

Well I agree with that, First to blame is the indian education system, then corruption and then last but no the least, people themselves :D, after pursuing a medical education and becoming a doctor wasting one persons seat, they jump in to civil services :D, This was just an example. There are so many cases, education in one and job in other feild creates imbalances and other people who have completed education in one certain faculty loose chances of getting jobs due to other faculty members taking up their opportunities. besides corruption is worst here, everything even seats are given to students on basis of money not talent. This results in wastage of talent and then some people out of frustration take up to crime. Employment opportunities should be created in each and every state at the first place so that people should not flock to other places which results in overcrowding of certain areas and hence shortage of opportunities. This is also one of the problems. Employment should be balanced everywhere.

Hii Ganesh.. First of all, I am not sure what you really have tried to say here... There are many jobs in India.. I am an Indian and I know we suffered the least during the recession (don't know why and how! and do not ask me please). I work here!!! And trust me, I am satisfied with my work... And if you or anyone else isn't satisfied, then you people should choose another jobs, there are plenty of them.. Thinking negatively is not going to work... And certainly, blaming India for the lack of ability to sort out your problems isn't going to help... Your name suggest that you are an Indian and I hardly expected an Indian to be so negative...

I think you are right because here are the main reason of unemployment is behind it's politics.. yes it is true.. the politician are corrupted.. and they nothing want to doing against unemployment.. I think government shouldn't want to invest money in opening some factory.. i think if their are one new factory started then many hundreds persons get jobs.. I think government should take some cation if they want to less the ration of unemployment in country..
