A whole new outlook

Yesterday, I decided to rearrange my bedroom furniture. Luckily I have a grown-up son to give me a hand. So, now my bed is facing the window & in the corner up against the wall on 2 sides so I have a nice big space beside the bed instead of a narrow space on 3 sides. I had the best night's sleep in ages - the fluffy duck and singing "Wee Willie Winkie" puppet were in exactly the same place when I woke up... which wasn't until 8am, & then treated myself to breakfast sitting on the bed watching Eddie Izzard on TV Do you think maybe I finally got my Feng Shui correct???

Hiya Wizzy, As long the edge of your Bed is not facing the Bedroom Door (if you are lying down and your feet face the bedroom door) think you have done it right too. Mirrors in Bedrooms a no no from what I can see they are saying on these feng shui pages I am reading also no computers either. But that´s what they are saying not me. Have not seen Eddie Izard for ages and ages. Hope you enjoyed your Breakfast.

As it happens, my feet are now facing the bit that is diagonally opposite from where the door is... I just wanted to maximise the space really. I dont have the computer in there - just a small TV (which is probably also a no-no) However, I still have to go thru 3 or 4 bags of stuff that I've pulled out of cupboards/wardrobes etc.

Whoops I mean your feet are not supposed to face the Bedroom Door. That was it only that.

Hiya Wizzy, Sounds good that direction. About the Tv. I don´t know if that is good or bad. But I think if you are cold enough in the Winter and don´t want to sit in the Tv. Room if it´s cold in there a nice small Tv in your Room would be good Feng Shui for me at least anyways. You can keep warm watch your favourite Program in peace and quiet relax with all the Pillows plumped up behind you I would say that is very good Feng Shui indeed. Can´t beat it can you? I know it´s not Winter but it´s getting chilly enough of a Night to warrant extra Blankets the Windows closed tight and the Doors shut as well. Also the getting dark early too enough to make you want to creep into Bed and watch your Tele.

I don't believe in feng shui and all that stuff. Just arrange your room the way you want it.

Me neither... I made the comment tongue-in-cheek. The room is how I like it now, except for those few bags.

Oh dear.... I'm not really a Feng Shui believer. If I was, I would be getting rid of all the clutter in my life much more easily I'm sure.

It sure sounds like you did! Rearranging your furniture can always give a new outlook to your room. Its good to move things around because we can get tired of looking at the same stuff all the time, why do you think there are 500 channels on the television. Make sure to include some mirrors so you can see all around the room to make things look bigger.

I have no mirrors in there, just a small one in the bathroom. I dont like mirrors. We used to have a half-wall of mirror tiles in the bathroom but thankfully they've gone now

Hmm, I am no expert on Feng Shui, but if you can watch TV in bed, then that has to be a good thing! It does always feel good to have a move around. The way our house is designed, we are very limited when it comes to furniture placement, so we do not get a chance to move things around very often. [em]sad[/em ]I loved doing this to my bedroom as a child though and would move every few months. My kids get to move their room around every year or so. They find it refreshing. Have you continued to sleep that well in this current configuration?

I think the best Feng Shui would be to detach my bedroom from the rest of the house & move it much closer to the coast.... Yes, as it happens, I have now had 5 consecutive nights of good sleep. It just feels 'right' now.

That is great to hear that you are sleeping so well like that. It must have been the right thing to do. Sleep is so important to the way that our whole body functions. Ha Ha! Moving your bedroom to the coast is a lovely if not practical thought. Perhaps you should get one of those meditation CD's with the sounds of the beach on it or something.

Hiya Wizzy, Move just your Bedroom closer to the Coast I think I would like something like that too. Detach it from the rest of the House that is really funny I like it very much made me laugh. There is not too much to laugh at today but you have made me laugh there. Good to see you are sleeping well again. Something must be working for you then.

Probably you did. At least you can enjoy a good sleep, and wake up next day morning energized with all you want. I wish I have such great morning for myself. I haven't experienced it for while.
