I have a great start for the week because finally our company have given a break to show my talent and ideas on how to improve our service. I am the one who have given the opportunity to represents our branch and the chance to win $1000. It is a great amount the competition runs for 3 months to finish our presentation above all others I have the the advantage because I have been working on this project for a year and my presentation is almost done before they have announced it. I've seen the ideas of other branches and all of their ideas are no longer unique they are just same thing as other company have been doing that is why I expected to won the first prize. But I was very disappointed when I found out that one of the category for judging is the time frame meaning the ideas could be implemented as soon as possible but idea would take a month before it gets implemented. To make it short I did not win the 1st prize instead I got only the second prize. Some others said I'm the one who supposed to be win that since my idea is very unique and innovative and most specially it will be a longterm service and not a short term. I drunk that night and can't even accept to my self that I missed one thing that is very valuable to me. Have you ever been in this kind of situation where in you think that success is almost in the palm of your hand then you loose it?

Don't worry I already recover from that failure of mine but my work doesn't end there I have improved my ideas even though it is over so that when time comes that the company realized that my idea was supposed to be chosen then I will have the courage to present them it in more better and improved ideas.

This happened to me recently. I applied for a supervisory position in my company and I got turned down. I was very disappointed and very frustrated because I know, I just do, that I'm a shoo in for the job. But then I realized that my expectations are based on my past performance. I forgot that I slacked off and was stuck on a false sense of entitlement. It was a lesson I needed to learn. So now, instead of expecting too much, I'm just working hard on making my reality better.

hi oh yes Rhodzp;tc years back when I applied for the clerks job in the library as it paid much better than my page job. I really thought I had aced the interview b u t no this other girl who had been there longer got the Clerks position and I won extra hours as a page. So i did not lose out completely but I also did not really get what i wanted. so I just made the best of it.I did really double my income as I got my hours of work.but it would have been nice to have got the clerk's position.

Hi dear, Relax!!! Ok, if you get the cash prize and it is a good amount money, of course, you lost it. May be some foul play must have done on it. But there is something good part of it. People’s appreciation. As many are proud of your work and your work was outstanding and deserving, feel free and be proud about yourself. As you said, too much expectations are always dangerous. If the wind blow opposite, we will be in great respire and we will be in much trouble. However, you tried your best and you got a higher level of appreciation also. Also, you managed to get to the 2nd position also valuable. Try for the next time and surely you can win the deal. All the best, cheers. Regards, Thank-s

That's why they say "Don't count the chicks while the eggs are not yet hatched". I have many experiences on this. I expect this and that to happen but in the end it turned out differently. But anyways, the important thing is that we rise up again and continue with our goals. Never give up! For as long as we live there is hope!
