Can Vanilla Ice Cream be a good substitute for milk?

I am not an avid fan of milk. Personally I don't want to drink milk at all. And if I can help it, I will not drink milk ever...I usually buy chocolate flavored drinks. However, my "calcium count" is going below normal and I think must shape up. I was discussing this matter with a friend and she told me to try vanilla ice cream because she know a pregnant friend who was eating vanilla ice cream instead of drinking milk (oops I am not pregnant..hehehe)Now her friend has two kids and very much healthy. I am also looking for other rich in calcium food. Currently, I buy cheese and yogurt from time to time. But still I want more options so I can get calcium from different sources aside from milk. There are some recommended sources if I will search online but Vanilla ice cream is not usually included there. I'm really curious about it. Feel free to give your opinion. Thanks.

Lots of your dark green veggies have calcium. Ice cream has too much sugar and fat to be a healthy substitute for milk. They do make supplement pills you can take however getting it from foods is always better.

Hi bird123... Thank you for your response. Yes it is true that ice cream have too much sugar and fats. Looks like whatever healthy benefits it may have are not sufficient to make it a healthy substitute for milk. Well, ice cream can very much be our "happy food" - a good anti- depressant but definitely not a milk substitute hehehe. There are calcium suplements in the pharmacies, I guess it would be better to stick to medically tested and proven stuff. Thanks again. :)
