Focusing on the now?

Like everyone, we all contempate on the past and the future... But focusing on the now? I'm stumped, like sure the now's to get things done and in action rather than dwelling on the past a lot and moving forward. But how am I suppose to focus on the now when I am planning ahead with stuff my little heard desires? It's quite difficult for myself to focus on the now when all I in the now is my beloved with me since they had to live far away. What am I to do now? When things tell me to only focus on the now. Focusing on the now is causing me to seize up because I'm always drifiting on what I should do later on the day, tomorrow, the next few days, weeks, months... It's quite puzzling to myself for focusing on the now. I feel like I have to chuck all my plans I had set aside from myself and just be along for the ride of the unexpected in life... But if I want to work on that goal or plan I must act NOW. -_-" But I cannot act NOW since it is focusing on the future when you're suppose to focus on the present --- Okay I'm probably confusing my own self. There's this person I seen on youtube who told people to focus on the now and not think of the future. But if you do not think about the future not one bit you cannot really focus on the now since the outcomes can vary... T_T Okay, so what I might have to do now is do all the things I must do while I'm still in this city of mine right? Right now is the "get ready" period isn't it? I don't know much about this clarity of the now... It's pretty foggy to myself. Would someone please enlighten me on their view of focusing on the now? And what really matters?!?!?!?!

By focusing on the now, you simply sit back, and look at yourself as you CURRENTLY are. What do you have? What do you need? Are you happy? Do you make the people around you happy? Do the people you keep around you make you happy? Do you find fulfillment in your daily life? Are you happy with yourself AS YOU ARE? You cannot find balance in your future life, without achieving balance in your CURRENT life. Sit back, meditate, and examine all elements of your life as they stand at this specific moment in time. If this is still hard for you to do after reading this post, I would suggest looking up simple meditation techniques online. Try searching: meditation and grounding.

No no, I'm fine with what you said. I just need to see someone else's view it's cleared up more than I thought the present shall be. Thanks. :)
