He was born on the 12th of September!! 6 lbs 15 oz 19 inches! The labor was 5 1/2 hours start to finish! Paperwork was barely done at the hospital when he came I went in and put those people to work lol! (4th baby) How did you fare in your labor? How were things after? I have been in a lot of pain with this one, way more than any of my others after the birth... The pain meds have worn out and I am still in pain! my doctor says well we forget when I tell him I didnt have such pains with the others... He did however give me an abundance of motrin...which really does nothing for me.. lol.. Do you think that postpartum pain is kind of overlooked or do you think we should just deal with it as a part of nature?

Hi, Talking about delivery, I still can imagine the pain and I am really phobia to give birth again in future. The pain can't be describe and I was not sleeping for whole night because of my back pain and also the contraction happened for few hours before I decided to go for c-section. After delivery, I did not feel the pain straightly, I just feel the legs were numb and only the next day, I feel the pain on my abdomen area and when I tried to wake up and walked, the pain strike me again and I have to bent my body in order to walk.I have to suffer the pain for about a week, and as my wound slowly recovered, then the pain slowly getting lesser and lesser.

I can only imagine a c-section pain, I luckily never had to go through that, the thought of any surgery scares me. I feel for you on that!

Congratulations on the birth of your baby boy on 12th September. I am pleased to hear that you didn't have a very long labor. It is a shame that you have experienced much postpartum pain. I hope that you are really enjoying your new little baby son. I have had three home births: the first labor was nine hours, the second labor was just two and a half hours and then the third labor was seven hours. I labored in a birthing pool for my first labor. My second baby was born before my birth pool was full. That was a quick and easy labor. Then I had a painful birth with my third baby and a severe blood loss after the placenta came out. I remember the savage after pains when I had my second baby and then after my third baby I was weak due to the blood loss and in agony with the pain. Good luck recovering after your baby's birth. I think postpartum pain is overlooked by midwifes.

Thank you! I agree, The midwife at my practice was not gonna give me anything but motrin, luckily for me the doctor was on the day I was discharged and I did get a few stronger meds. But the back pain is consistent, I am hoping they'll help me out.

HI Stacy, Congratulations on your new baby! I had fairly quick labors with all 4 of my girls as well. I really don't think such pain is normal afterwards but I honestly don't know. I was in an extreme amount of pain after my 2nd one and come to find out, I had a huge blood clot that if it had travelled could of been deadly! The doctors kept treating me as if I were being a wimpy little baby but I really wasn't. Finally one doctor examined me, saw the problem and rushed me into emergency surgery. The clot was the size of an apple! As soon as it was removed, I felt 100% better. With my others, I felt next to no pain afterwards and was up and moving around immediately after. I hope someone has some answers for you here. Take care and again, Congratulations!

When I had my children, I made sure that the doctor prescribed me enough of Motrin to last me. I made sure that it was the strongest kind too. Congratulations on the birth of your new baby! When I was in labor with my last child, I was in labor around 4 am in the morning. It was so bad. I was in so much of pain. I think that the doctors were aware of my pain that I was in when I was in labor. My pain was not overlooked because I stayed on top of the doctor's while they came into my room. Enjoy the sweetness of your baby. I hope that you will feel so much better very soon.

My pain was taken care of in the hospital, but I mean after leaving the hospital, I am still having very severe back pain, and the motrin is not helping. The percocet they gave me helped some of the time, but others it just made me feel like crap. So, I dont know what to do, other than grin and bear it, but it is hard when you have 3 kids and a new baby to take care of and you feel your pain is getting in the way. I had a spinal of fentanol while giving birth and I am starting to wonder if maybe that has something to do with the back pain?

Congratulation! Since it has been 5 weeks, I assume you feel alot better now? Well, I had difficult labour. I was induced, and my baby had to have a vacuum extraction because she seemed to want to stay in the tummy longer . Besides, I had no more stamina to push. She was a lot bigger that she was predicted to be, so the doctor had to give me episiotomy and I have tons of stitches. It was a rough day! I had no complication post partum, Thank God. I had post partum pain due to breatfeeding because it helps your womb to shrink to its original size faster. It gave me cramps.. But didn't stay for long. Well, that's what it takes to be a mom lol.

My first boy I was in labor for 18 hours, but slept through most of it from the demerol. Being ten years ago, I barely remember the labor pains. I do remember the pain of the episiotomy though. He was 10lb 1 oz and I required 30 stitches. I could barely walk for days afterwards because of the pain from that. My second was induced and had to have the bag broken, boy that was uncomfortable. Labor with him made me feel like someone was ripping my legs apart. After all 9lbs of him were out, the pain was gone. I actually had an adrenaline rush going and shortly after got up to walk around. My last boy I went into labor at work and 6 hours later he was here. Spent 10 minutes pushing, he was extremely easy compared to the other two. He was 8lbs 14oz. But, for some reason, I was so much more sore afterwards. I didn't even want to go to the bathroom.
