Legal Marijuana in California

Marijuana is legal in CA for medicinal purposes. My question, if a person doesn't want to smoke MJ and risk polluting their lungs, is it legal to say... buy MJ brownies or tea? I searched Google and this is what I found. Yes, dispensaries have "edibles." They also have various incarnations of marijuana or concentrate, such as tinctures, oils, and a range of products that most here wouldn't even know what it is, such as wax, goo, budder, etc. These are all specialized extracts or concentrates. The state law states that concentrates are illegal. However, the State AG issued a statement that he considers concentrates to be the same as marijuana. However, the cops and local DAs have seized on the thought that concentrates made with chemicals such as butane are illegal and those made without additions are legal. There are ways to make hash using just water and ice for example, and not introducing iso alcohol or butane. Cops can still bust someone for a concentrate or an edible and claim it is a chemical extract, and it is then up to the person arrested to have it analyzed to have charges dropped. Cops will often take an entire brownie or cookie or lollipop or whatever and weigh it, along with the wrapper and package it came in, and then charge the person with possession of illegal hash in the amount of that entire weight. So maybe that brownie has 1/2 g of hash, but when you get busted, you are now charged with possessing 4 oz of hash. Let's say that hash sells for $50 a gram, now that brownie just got you charged with a crime supposedly involving a $5000 street price, instead of $50. Those who can pay will get out of this, those who can't pay are simply out of luck and will take a conviction. Smoking is not an optimal delivery system; anything that burns creates tar, and the act of burning creates chemicals that aren't good. Using a vaporizer is probably one of the most efficient methods that doesn't create additional chemicals... instead of a flame, a chamber gets hot enough for the material to vaporize without the burn.

I heard about the vaporizer. I would be interested in seeing about it if the measure being voted in November passes, making one ounce of MJ legal, for everybody 21 or over (Proposition 19.) Goodness, I better just eat the edible before the police confiscates it.
