What do you do while you're waiting?

So I am waiting for my cousin to drop her baby off for me to babysit. She called and said that she is stuck in traffic. I have already cleaned a little bit. So I decided to mylot for a while and relax. There really is no more cleaning to do as I did most of it yesterday. I am starting to get bored though. I don't really want to get in the middle of any games because she could be here any minute. When waiting you don't want to get in the middle of something important or else you might be interrupted. So I don't want to do anything of importance. I thought about getting on my phone but no one is really up right now to talk to or text. When I first got up I got my clothes on, did my hair, my make up and then I cleaned a little bit. The clothes do need to go into the dryer but that will only take a minute. At least I am home and not out in an office waiting or else I would be really bored. Some of the things you could do while waiting are phone calls, texting, internet by phone, or if you are at home internet at home. You could also clean, read a book, just wait patiently. This depends on where you are waiting though as to what you could do. What do you do while waiting?

Yes . While waiting at home you can do any number of pending things in domestic duties. But how do you spend the time at some one's place or in public place is the question, say in bus stations or airport or doctor's clinic and in lawyers office and so on.Once I visited a doctor and many patients were waiting even before I entered.I had to wait because I wanted to consult on urgent health problem. When I sat in the visitors room , a board hung on the wall attracted my attention. It read as follows.." Waiting is not a waste of time. You can read a magazine, plan your work of that day or week, meditate, think of the priorities or recollect a work which you have done early like that so many hints or take a nap. Out of all I was much impressed by meditation which I started that day and it is very useful to me now a days...

I didn't think about it until now but sometimes I just sit and think. Especially if I am waiting in a waiting room at the doctors or dentist. I have to go to the eye doctors in a few months and I will probably just wait and think while I am there. Although I have to admit he usually doesn't make me wait for a very long time. I hate when I have to drive for a long distance then wait for a long time in a boring waiting room.

Waiting is certainly boring for every one any where. The discussion is as to how best we can make waiting as useful and not boring. You can try one of the methods I suggested and tell me which one you chose and whether you found it useful...

When I am at waiting on something or someone I usually use MyLot or Sleep until the time passes even though sometimes it is not good to sleep because you could end up missing whatever it is that you are waiting for but MyLot is still a good option for passing time and discussing things with people.

I agree that mylot is a good option while you wait. You can log off anytime and you can have fun and make money at the same time all while you wait. I usually don't sleep because I don't nap that much but if I was really tired then I would. I probably watch television the most when I wait.

Sometimes, while I'm waiting, I might do a bit of reading to pass the time. It certainly helps me pass the time. I think that the best thing is to do something that you enjoy doing. That's probably the best way to actually past time and such.

Yes I agree. Doing something that you enjoy will certainly pass the time quicker. You will also not get as bored as quickly. It is also nice to do something you enjoy because it doesn't feel like you are actually waiting. Although sometimes we can't do everything that we want to do while we are waiting. Electronics help though! With laptops, cell phones, ipods, and other electronic devices help us do almost anything. Most cell phone have the option of web internet so we can even get on the internet while we wait.

Well I hate to get bored waiting for someone especially if they are an hour late. So I bring an ipod, a book something that would keep me busy doing something. Sometimes I bring along my laptop and play games just to get me occupied.

I usually don't bring my laptop many places but I bring my cell phone almost everywhere. I have web on my phone so I will get on facebook, myspace, or search the web while waiting. I will also text, talk or look at pictures on my phone. If I knew I was waiting for hours and hours then I would probably bring my laptop so that I could mylot or really use the internet. One good thing would be to take one of my college books and read it or work on a paper for school. I just thought about that! That would be a good thing for me to do from now on when I wait!

When i am in traffic waiting I commonly listen to the raido.I find that if you listen to something that is soothing then the time that you are waiting seems to just drift by.When i am waiting for someone that i am picking up from somewhere I sometimes watch a dvd from my player in my car.I find that this makes time just fly by and it is really enjoyable.

Watching movies is a great time to have time pass by. I would also watch movies if I had to wait for a very long time. I also listen to music in the car, I listen to the radio mostly though. I don't really like soothing music but I understand your point. Listening to music helps when I am waiting in the car, especially if there is a lot of traffic. If I am not the driver then I will get on my cell phone, read a book, look at a magazine, watch the scenery, talk to the other people in the car. Most of the time that I am in a car I don't usually have to wait that long unless there is a lot of traffic. Most of the time there is a lot of traffic where I live but there are certain times of the day when there is barely any traffic.

Before I usually wait for about 1 to 3 hours for my girlfriend to come out of her school, I have nothing to do at time because I already finish my subject back then. When I wait for her, I usually play with my cellphone and sometimes listen to my music using my phone. Right now, I still wait for her, for more or less an hour before she finish her work. I usually bring my cellphone to play and listen to music, and sometimes I brought my netbook so that I can play more games and watch some movies while waiting so that I won't get bored.

That is good that your phone keeps you busy. I don't have any games on my phone. I would have to pay for it so I don't have games on my cellular phone. I thought about paying for some but I can't really afford it. I also don't know how much I would play the game so I don't think it would be worth it. If I wasn't at home then I would still get on my phone and text, talk, go on the web, take pictures and fool around a bit with my phone. Other than using my phone I would just wait patiently and look around, maybe look at a magazine or read a book.

I would get mad if I was waiting for someone and they weren't answering my phone calls. If it was only a short time it wouldn't bother me but after I awhile the person needs to call me and let me know what's going on. I'm glad she called me and told me that she was running late, because there have been times that she has asked me to babysit and then never call me and I don't end up having the baby. It is really aggravating in those situations. Luckily she called to tell me because I almost went back to sleep. I have to admit that she has gotten better and will call or text me the situation. Whether she is running late, don't need a babysitter anymore, or any other situations.

In this era, waiting is something that will never bother me again. I usually play my Nintendo DS, or listen to my audio books through my iPod, or just go online. How long do I have to wait? One, two, three, or four hours? That's fine!

Wow, you are a patient person. If I had to wait for four hours it would drive me crazy. I would watch a movie, go out to eat, play games, mylot, take a bath, or do something fun while waiting. I would try to get interested in something that would occupy my time. Four hours is a long time to wait so I would try not to think about it while waiting.

When you are waiting for someone it seems to make everything you do a little boring. I don't know why, I think it is because you know you are waiting. I don't usually play games on my cell phone because I don't have any and can't afford to pay for any. Plus I wouldn't play the games enough.

When I have to wait and I'm near a computer with internet connection, I'd go online. However, if there's no access to computers or the internet, I usually watch anime on my psp, maybe play a game. Recently I also like playing games on my cellphone XD They're strangely addictive and time consuming. I also like listening to music. It keeps me from being cranky while waiting (I hate waiting _

I hate waiting also. I don't play much of psp but I do play wii games. When I have the time waiting for someone I will go play a wii game. Although when I am out of the house I can't really play wii. I don't have any small video game devices or any other small devices other than my cell phone. Usually I don't bring my laptop. Although if I knew I had to wait for a really long time I would bring my laptop, and if I knew I could get on the internet.

Music! Nothing is better than music! I listen to U2, One Republic and Coldplay. All of them are good bands who produce meaningful music. I also listen to heavy metal sometimes. (Dream Evil) Or maybe a few songs by Taylor Swift, Leona Lewis and Enrique Iglesias. Or a few trance songs by Ryan Farish or Above and Beyond.

Hi! I think of happy thoughts, lol, or else I can't stay and wait for long. I think I'm very impatient waiting. I think of things to buy, restaurants I want to try, clothes that will look good on me, my love ones, lol. Happy thoughts!

As much as possible I really don't want to wait but in case that this thing happens I rather find coffee shop, take a cup of coffee while reading magazine or I'll go to the nearest internet shop and surf the net just to make myself busy rather than waiting. ;)

Yes these are all good things to do while we are waiting. Although sometimes we don't have an option of any of these. I am not a big coffee drinker but I will drink it occasionally. Reading a magazine is a good way to pass the time while waiting. I hate it when the waiting rooms don't have any magazines. Usually they have some magazines and books to read.

Usually I don't go out unless I know I have the time. Sometimes I will eat until the person arrives or something. I don't like waiting for pizza, I don't know why...I just don't. I like to play games, mylot, clean, shop online, watch television. I could have watched television this morning but there was nothing good on television this morning. So I decided to mylot and have some good discussions, and make some extra cash because I can use the extra money.

It can be various things... That depends on where I am while I'm waiting. For example, I can just take a street view, wathcing peoples around there and the buildings if I'm at the street. Or reading ebooks with my cellphone, which kills time quickly, I just need to store some books there. But, I have to say, it's not a happy experience to be waiting for someone, though you may not care.

I might start tidying up the house or looking through my work emails. If I still have time after that I might go on the internet and try to make money. I usually will put on the TV while waiting too.

Yes sometimes I feel irritated when somebody gets time from me and when he/she not come. I think this is not a good manner. I think if peoples get any time for meeting with someone then they should reach on time because it is their duty to reach on time. But when they don't come on time and waiting then I feel irritated because I always reached on time when I need to meet somebody.

It is alright if the person calls to let me know they are running late. Otherwise yes I get aggravated as well. I have a few family members that make it a happen to tell me they are coming over and do not show up. Then when I try to call them they do not answer. Over the years they have gotten better about it but still do it occasionally.

you are right. i won't do something important while waiting for something, because don't want to get interrupted in the middle. normally i will watch movie using my computer where i can pause it when something is done. i used to text my friends using my cell phone while waiting, but they always reply when i am getting busy...lol. so i only will text my friends when i am really free for texting and waiting for them to reply.

while waiting either i surf the internet or watch tv, that is if i am at home. Mylotting is something to do while waiting too. If i'm out, i think i'd be busy observing people or finding someone to text with and hope the person arrives soon.

If I don't have anything to do (like, no available internet connection) while I'm waiting then... oddly sometimes I would *pretend* to be calling someone. I think that's because I'm so self-conscious about being alone -_- makes me feel like every other person there is staring at me like I'm a freak... But yeah if I'm at home I would go online or sleep or something :D

I have never pretended to call someone. Although I would occasionally get on my phone and text people. Even if they don't text me back I would just text the next person in my contact list. Sometimes I don't get a reply back except for one person. I have a really good friend that almost always text me back so I will usually text her first. Although I am not judging you, I don't think I would ever pretend to call someone. Wouldn't it be emberrasing if your phone rang while you pretended to talk to somebody?
