A question for girls: Do you lie about your shoe size?

This might seem like a weird question, but I recently discovered that a lot of girls lie about their shoe size, normally in order to give the impression that their feet are smaller than they are.
I have rather small feet, so I never felt the need to do this.
But guys, be honest... have you ever lied about your shoe size? And if so, why did you do it?

Hi puccagirl, I haven't lied about the size of my shoe before. Although I have a bit bigger size than that of most of my friends I still let others know my shoe size. To me there is nothing to be considered as an embarrassment or a sham at all. Moreover knowing my shoe size is easy and convenient for my companions to look for shoes which match my size handily when go for shoe shopping

You are completely right, I very much agree! There is nothing at all to be embarrassed about even if you have a bigger foot. Seriously, who cares about such things?

I'm happy with my bigger size feet as I seldom fail to get the size of required shoes. 
very often my friends couldn't get their desirable shoes as standard size shoes which are in great demand are usually out of stock. I always wait until the on sale season to get shoes with rather lower price

It's a week or so to go before our chinese new year. There were shoes of smaller and bigger sizes on sale for there were new arrivals which are fashionable to welcome the coming festival a month before. I had picked a pair of well designed shoes. I's so glad I still could get the shoes which fit my size with the offer price. It's practical and frugal as well

I have no idea, but from what I understand, it is pretty common that girls do it. But since I have never done it myself, I also don't know why.

No I have never lied about my shoe size. My shoe size is a six. I can sometimes wear a six and a half but sometimes they are too big. I feel like I also have small feet also. My sister is a lot younger than me and I can fit into her flip flops. My other sister has bigger feet than me and she is younger than me. I am the oldest of all three of us. I probably have the smallest feet out of all uf us, except for my sister who is ten years old. I am also the shortest. My sister who is ten is almost taller than me!

I know what you mean, I have never cared about shoe sizes either. And to be honest, I don't even buy the same size all the time. Sometimes I need a bigger shoes because the shoes are too narrow or something, and that really does not matter to me in any way.

i just fail to understand why should one lie about foot size, one can see foot of the person and know if it is big or small, my size is 12, my wife's 8, no hiding dear..

I don't actively lie, but I try to avoid it coming up in conversation because I have large feet. I just find it a bit embarassing, especially as I'm the same size as my boyfriend! I definitely won't volunteer how big they are.

Since my shoe size is very normal, so I don't have to lie to it. But it seems that it is true that some girls will tell a lie about their shoe size. As I know one of my colleagues's shoe size is 37, but usually she says she can also wear size 36. Perhaps small shoes will be much more elegant for girls?

No reason to lie about shoe size. Though a co-worker and I think there's a conspiracy against anyone with bigger feet as all the cute shoes seem to only have 1 in our size/sizes and it's usually gone or discontinued when you go to look for it. So it seems like it's a if you like it and it's your size grab now decide later if it's going to work for your.

I don't really lie about my shoe size,but I don't talk about it.my shoe size is US 9.in a way,it is a bit proportional to my body.I have big bones and curves.if I have small feet I would probably be stumbling and tripping most of the time.I am proud of my feet though,because they look nice,especially when I am wearing open shoes.

haha, I have heard of lying about your age and weight but never shoe size. I never really had a problem with my shoe size but then again I am only a size 7.5 US so I guess that is normal for a girl I don't know. Why would someone lie about their shoe size though I mean it's not like you can't tell that it's bigger than what you say it is haha. Any how good question and I like the responses you got too.

I don't lie- I have huge feet. Ok, well they aren't huge, but they aren't tiny either! I wear anywhere from a 9 1/2 to an 11. I don't think anyone would believe me if I tried to say I wore a 6 LOL!
Seriously though, I can't see why it would matter, I don't often talk about my feet unless I'm grumping about how hard it is to find shoes.
