I am always sleepy in the afternoon. I don't understand why. I couldn't help from falling asleep while waiting for the time. Are you often sleepy? What do you do to fight it? Ooh.. i drink coffee to overcome it.

Me too, really sleepy after the lunch :). I often have a nap almost everyday, except the days when I have extra class to teach. When I feel sleepy, I do nothing to fight it, cause I'm very alert when I have something to do. I rarely drink coffee as I'm pregnant :) The best way is to have a nap ^^

I do get sleepy in the afternoons too, some times. That's if I had gone to bed very late the previous night. That happens because some days I get back home from work very very late, close to midnight some times with the work at the office getting so busy. Yes, when I get sleep, I would have a cup of coffee or a glass of orange juice.

hi tess__quinain this may sound odd but have you ever been tested for diabetes? high blood sugar in the afternoon will make me feel groggy and its one symptom thats hardly ever mentioned while drinking a lot of water, being super thirsty and having to go to the bathroom are always given as symptoms. Of course being sleepy might just mean you might not have got enough sleep the night before. but checking yearly for diabetes should be a must on anyone's health list.i am a diabetic and if I eat too much or the wrong carb and my blood sugar goes up I get super sleepy. I drink a lot more water and this flushes ou t the sugar from ones blood also I drink some coffee for extra wake up power.

Yes, there are times, when I feel sleepy in the afternoon. It does happen from time to time. It's difficult sometimes to fight it. We're all different. I try to get some caffeine in me, as I don't think that I could fight without any caffeine as well. I try to do something and keep my mind awake.
