I read from the internet, says that rice is really not good if we take it in a big portion. What is the right portion for a man like me? Being the main diet in Asia, I just cannot leave rice in my meal. I feel week if I don't take rice..

you said it right! rice is a good source of energy, but only when you need it, ofcourse we all need some energy but the problem is do you eat a huge of serving and your daily activity is not demanding ...it causes to store fat cause this a lot of glycogen in our body that is not properly used..generally speaking if your a meal age between 20-30 and with weight of 120-180 pounds and you don't workout or do cardio exercise, 1 cup every meal is enough, i know it's hard but it will take you sometime in order you body will adjust to that portion...

Can't say what the "right" portion is for you... there are lots of factors to be considered such as age, activity level, body type, etc. But, one serving of cooked rice is generally agreed upon to be 1/2 cup. It's also widely accepted that whole grains are much better for your health so eating brown rice is a better choice than white rice, for example.

The rice is an important main food in Asia. In my city, it is very common for a man to have two bowls of rice for a meal. Rice is not a kind of meat, and therefore it shall be healthy and I don't think it will make people gain a lot of weights. If so, then there will be many fat Asians but actually many people are slim. I love China

the general ideal serving of rice is 1 cup but it depends with your metabolism ang goal to your physique...brown rice or any organic rice is much prefered for those into diet cause it doesn't peak your sugar even if you eat more that the required serving...
