When a bargain is not a bargain

I considered myself very fortunate a couple of weeks ago when I got the chance to snap up a real bargain in a laptop. Well, suffice it to say that my bargain turned out to be not such a bargain after all. Luckily, I didn't get burned on this deal because the person I bought it from willingly refunded my money after it didn't work out. After having to get someone to look at it twice, I told him that there was some problem with the laptop that might end up costing me a lot of money. I really had my heart set on this laptop since I had not owned one for some time. It was a big disappointment to me. Have you ever had a similar experience?

Almost a year ago my brother's friend offered me a sony vaio vgn-cs series with really great specs at a fraction of the actual cost. without any doubt i bought it immediately. after a few months of using it i heard some strange sound coming out of my computer. It turned out the fan of the sony vaio vgn series are all defective, but i don't have any warranty so i couldn't have it fixed by sony for free. Now I'm considering getting a macbook pro despite the price. I just have to save up to get a quality notebook.

Good to hear you were able to recover your investment. Could have been a nightmare trying to get a refund. We don't have a laptop. We did a few years ago and I really didn't like it. It was the mouse that drove me nuts. Plus it kept freezing up so I couldn't use it without rebooting each time it started. We ended up donating it last year after it sat around for about 5 years.

Yes, I have. We got a Mercedes, that needed a few little things, but was soooo nice. It kept having little things go wrong, we do not have the correct tools to work on a Mercedes, so we sold it. The person who got it is able to work on it, has the right tools, and it has made him a really nice car. I loved that car. It had leather seats, and a sun roof and was very solid feeling and comfortable, but it was not for us.

Ya, I was going to go ahead and buy a printer because it was a really good deal. I bought it, set it up and found it wasn't one I could use with my wireless laptop after all. I was sweating it because I didn't want the hassle of sending it back. A friend of mine at work needed one and I told her about this one that I had. She said it just what she wanted and she bought it from me saving me unneeded stress getting to the UPS office and shipping it back, then waiting for the money to appear again in my account. I hate that!
