We have a few big trees in our front yard and one big one in our back our neighbor also has a tree that leans over our yard most times in the fall we have a LOT of leaves to rake a couple of times in the fall we caught a break and all the leaves blew over to our neighbors across the street! Mother nature was on our side that year we do have a leaf blower and it makes it a bit easier for us but I guess I shouldn't complain to much the leave are beautiful when they change and with the type of winter we had here on the east coast last year I would rather rake the leaves than shovel the snow!

I lived in Southern California for years and we only had one season..summer. My husband and I moved to Washington state in July and I'd forgotten how beautiful the fall season is. People here think that I am crazy. I carry my camera everywhere I go and I must have a memory card half full of pictures of trees with changing colors.

Hi Lauren Yes Washington State has beautiful leaves the east coast has some pretty nice ones too especially Maryland and Virginia and theres nothing wrong with taking pictures of something as beautiful as fall leaves when they turn I especially think their really pretty when they sky is a deep blue it really looks good against the colors

We don't rake ours, we have some sort of an attachment on the lawnmower. I couldn't tell you what it is, but I am pretty sure that's how the leaves are picked up. My husband and I don't have to do yardwork like that, only when we're planting. Hmm, the leaves are very beautiful though. I remember as a child raking them up and jumping in them, then we'd put them in a few orange pumpkin bags, it was a lot of fun.

Autumn can be such a special time of the year. Raking the leaves can be a chore that we don't look forward to doing. as a child, i loved raking the leaves into a pile so i could jump into them.

Hi Sender I thin raking leaves as a child was fun for all of us because we did it to play in them now as adults we don't really look forward to it because it now becomes a chore that we just don't feel like doing but has to be done Thank goodness it only happens once a year

Me too! We don't have fall where I live though but whenever I go to the US it's always during autumn. I love the scents that go with it and the colors...the feeling I get during the fall is the feeling I get when I smell apple-cinnamon and when I eat spice cake...all warm and fuzzy inside. I also find the lighting great for photography, like nobody looks bad in fall lighting.=)

I don't really like the fall.. because I'm more of a fan of the summer.. I prefer the heat! I have never raked leaves a day in my life... except for once when my sis and I wanted to make two big piles of leaves to jump in. Today when I was sitting outside for the brief period of time that I did, my dad was raking the leaves on one side of the yard before he cuts the grass. We have a Japanese Cherry Tree in the front yard and the leaves always fall earlier than all the neighbors Bradford Pears on the street. My husband asked him did he need any help.. but he said no because he decided he was going to be lazy today and just cut the leaves up in the lawnmower!! lol

i would rake the leaves any day then shovel snow. i was living in minnesota last year for the winter and the first snow fall was 7 feet deep. it took forever to get my car outta the snow. it was cold and terrible. i live in georgia now where we barely get any snow. im loving it to be honest. i thought i would love the snow, but i proved myself wrong! lol

Hi Donna Your not alone lol a lot of people don't like the snow to much especially when you get the kind we had last year 80 inches for the winter season what a record that was it was never ending and it seemed like the snow piles stayed until April

Fall has arrived and the trees are looking amazingly beautiful. The first days of Fall were like summer, temperatures very high. It's getting back to normal temperatures, and I am enjoying them. Yup, have to start raking the yelly leaves too. My backyard is completely covered with yellow leaves.

Hi Greenline Your right it did start off kind of hot for the first few days of fall and now that the tempuratures are back to normal (actually some days below normal) their starting to change we got a lot of rain this past week it seems to be keeping the leaves a little greener for a little longer

I live where it is summer the whole year - divided into the wet season and the dry season, and though I love our weather, sometimes, I'm envious of those with the 4 seasons. Of the 4, my favorite is autumn, too! The colors are just so pretty, and I love the site of falling leaves! But, I guess, raking the leaves is pretty tedious. At least in your case, though, the leaves are dry. In our country, after a big storm, we have to clean up fallen leaves, too, and most of the time they're wet and muddy.

Hi Glory We get a lot of rain here too durning the fall months and our leaves get wet and muddy as well which makes them extra heavy you need a shovel to get them from the curb although we probably don't get as much rain as you do I can relate to wet leaves they are also dangerous for cars on the road sometimes the leaves blow all over the street and then the next day we get rain and thats when it gets interesting
