Christmas and what it means

Is it just me or has everyone forgot what christmas is really about? What would happen if everyone looked at their family and said you know what....you are not getting a gift this year or you are only getting one because you are going to learn what christmas is about. Can you imagine the amount of kids today that would go off the deep end? Christmas is nothing anymore but a reason for others to higher prices and make money off of everyone cause they know that they will buy. People actually fight in stores around this time because there isnt enough of something. why? What happened to giving from the heart and the birth of Jesus? Some kids these days dont even know about that. The world seems to get more selfish and farther away from traditions as the years go on.

For the average person, Jesus is not apart of Christmas celebrations. Its just all commercialization, and greed. Christmas is all about buying, spending and making money. I for one have given up on Christmas. I no longer give gifts on Christmas (I give them year around on special occasions like birthdays etc) Christmas is a dreaded time when you can't even buy your groceries without experiencing the appalling sounds of Christmas music reverberating in the store.

I agree, Christmas is all about the people love and care about. I bet that if could ask a kid if he would rather have a really expensive and brand new toy or time to spend with his or her family, the child would probably pick the toy. Imagine if we were in a world where we only cared about what we got. Everyone would be to reedy to give something away.
