Could anyone tell me what is a good product for getting rid of flees? I have tried everything from flee sprays to flee pills and nothing seems to work well. any-thing you could suggest would be most helpful.

I use D.E. Diatomaceous Earth (foodgrade), its a non-toxic pest control. And it also isa good de-wormer. I use iit on my Cat. We live in Florida and he is white and orange and because fleas are attracted to white he is a majior target.

Moth balls in the vacuum helps a lot. This way any that are sucked up or not hop back out or lay eggs in an area that you can't get to.

This summer was a feast for those nasty pests! I can't remember any year like this. I don't know what happened to the fleas, they seem to resist on every product we use against them. I use spot-on products on my dog (Advantix, Frontline, Fiprex), but they seem not to work any more after two or three weeks after application. I don't want to use them more often than once a month, so we have to fight fleas by natural ways for almost two weeks each month. So far I've used a little garlic into my dog's diet and the lavander oil spray from the recipe one friend gave me here, on myLot. I can't say my dog hasn't fleas at all, but at least we keep them under control. If you are interested in the recipe for the lavander spray, I'll try to find it through older discussions, but maybe carmelanirel will respond to this discussion and she will write the recipe herself.

If the methods you're using aren't working, then there might be some other factor involved. The area where your pet hangs around could be prime nesting spot for flees. Your pet's diet can also affect how much flees get attracted.

Someone told me that adding nutritional yeast to the dog food helps. Don't know why that would work though.
