Liverpool or Loserpool !! What's your take?

It was such a humilliating defeat to liverpool at Anfield! what is happening to liverpool? It appears to me like the team has almost the same players that nearly won the premiarship a season ago; Reina, the flamboughant Gerrald-"heart of the team" and the Elninohs of this world including the chelsea glamour boy-Joe & Glen now but seeing them get such results against a "championship" side at home gives me a heartache! Is it about Roy? What's your take?

They are in the relegation side, last season was very disappointing , but with the signing up of joe, i thought it would be good and perform better.. But really found that it's not playing the better football. What is really happening actually? Why the team is not winning? they were one of the top seeded team two seasons back, bu now???? They stood second after MU the season before last season and they found no place in Champions League now. I thought they would be getting into Champions League next season, but again disappointing.. What torres has got? Let them sell him and buy some other good player or with the money they can trade two good players ..

Actually, I also thought Joe Cole would spice up things and create a dangerous partnership with Torres and Gerrald! I thought Liverpool was really gonna rock but I am getting more and more worried about the teams survival from the relegation zone because none of the new comers and returnees wants to fall prey! Newcastle, Blackpool, Westbromwich, they are all doing their best and causing hickups!! so, who is gonna walk alone this time???? Liverpool....... am worried!!

A top seeded team walking away is not the one which everybody expects... They are good with players, but they lack something !!! Losing a game in their home is something which i don't accept that too to a newly promoted team in the league !! They shouldn't have let Xabi Alonso out of the team two seasons back, this really causing them more trouble ... Now they have to look up for a mid fielder as well as a striker to get their position back !!

As im a man utd fan a part of me wants them to be relegated. They are doing awful. But you can't really imagine the top flight being without a team like them with all the history they have

Sure, that is why I believe they should stop reckoning on the history and show their fans some glory! Personally, I believe it will be a miracle for the corps to make it to the European Championship next season!!

I think what Jamie Carragher said some time back was pretty apt. He said it was not Sir Alex who knocked us out of it's perch, rather it was Greame Sounness. It was during his time that Liverpool started slipping and progressively got worse under Houllier, Rafa Benitez and now under Roy Hodgson. Add to that the goings on behind the scene with the ownership issues and you see a club that has been destroyed completely. I would not be surprised if people like Torres and Gerrard finally decide to leave the club. This is really the worst start to the season for Liverpool and they will do good to make Europa League this season!! Cheers! Ram

Yes ram, you sound as though you were among the guys that displayed the banner that goes...; "Liverpool, built by shanks, destroyed by yanks"! But seriously, for a team that boasts of 18 premiership tittles to be looking back to the last five seasons and more without glory is an absurd comprehension and I believe there is need for managerial overhaul at anfield if anything is ever gonna change! Now the new bids are causing a power wrangle between Hicks and Gillet, and where does this lead the team???????????

I am an everton fan, so you can say there is not love lost when I saw them being defeated. More so when it help us move out of the relegation zone. However I am feeling a little emptiness as I envision both team fighting for the title, and everton to win the title. however this time round we seem to be rooted to the bottom of the table.

iwrite, nothing much has changed about everton! Indeed you have started improving and managed to score your first away goal this season and winning the game as well, you have caused enough trouble to ManU, I would say everton is doing fine now and Moyes is a bright chap! Everton is now one place away from the relegation zone! But liverpool, leaves a lot to be desired!!!

you make a interesting topics.. liverpool is same destiny with my team in italy league.. but the different is (in my opinion), our coach is more better than liverpools coach.. the problem is torres never give the best for liverpool and it`s more bad because torres got injured and no one is same qualith with torres in liverpool squad..

Which one is your team? by the way talking of Italian Serie A, is AS Roma gonna win anything again? how about Juventus?

Similarly, Arsenal suffered a shock home defeat to WBA just the week before. Both shocking results but I dont think either the clubs should give up now. It is far too early to do so. Give Roy Hodgson sometime to mould his own team.

Yeah, Hodgson needs time to mould hid team but that shouldn't be too much time because these are the games that matter a lot! You don't just lose a home game like that!! Especially against a side like Blackpool!!

Unfortunately under the rule of Benitez Liverpool were destroyed, and yes I am a Liverpool fan. He let crucial players go those who were the link between the good players we had and those which have come in to replace them are not up to the standard. Although I am disappointed in how this season has started I am sure Hodgson will turn things around especially if things can finally settle down behind the scenes with the takeover. Part of the trouble is that now the players are playing with fear and a lack of confidence and as such are prime for the taking by other teams. If Liverpool get 3 wins on the trot you will see a seriously different team with a confidence about them again.

As someone who used to live 12 miles away from Liverpool and who has (I'm sad to say) three daughters who are married to Scousers!!, I have never been a Liverpool fan (my dad was a staunch Everton fan) and despite where we lived in between Manchester and Liverpool my 14 year old son is an Arsenal fan (????) The fan's get up my nose, but then they ARE Scousers!!!! and I think that the team have been going down hill a lot lately. I now live near Lancaster and my son is a season ticket holder with Blackburn Rovers (that way he gets to see his beloved Arsenal!)and Blackburn beat them last year. I was pleased for little Blackpool (just round the corner from me), I love to see the 'little' team win! By the way the Scouser thing is a little tongue in cheek, living where I did for 50 years , you have to have a love/hate relationship with them!!!!

Who knows what is the matter, it is very strange that Liverpool is doing so poorly, but I am convinced that Liverpool will recover and will finish in the first half of the table, maybe they will manage to get even a Champions League spot. It is impossible for a team that has so many good players to finish in the second half of the table, but this is the case in many important European leagues, many great teams don't get their form. But I am ablsolutely sure that all of this teams will find the winning street again.
