I have recently been reading the book of Philemon, really delving into the book and the relationships there. I have enjoyed that study. I find that whatever book I am studying at the time becomes my "favorite." What is your favorite Book in the Bible? Why?

I have been a Sunday school teacher not too long, probably a few months back. When I first ask to teach them, I felt a little scared to share to them wrongly. But I was surprised that while I was on the journey teaching them, and of course I did my homework for the lesson, I have actually appreciating the story from each book more and more. Now I am in the book of Genesis, story about Joseph and his brothers. Its a good book to teach those little ones the meaning of sacrifice, love, forgiveness and god's grace =)

I also just realized that Joseph has all the characteristics that a Christian should have, that I didn't take note of last time. It was fun teaching and learning with them. Keep on reading too =)

Proverbs is such a wonderful book, full of practical wisdom. We are now raising two grandsons and I have determined that we will read them through at least once a year till the guys are grown.

I enjoy reading the books of the Old Testament in the Bible. They are filled with such history and memorable people and events. So much knowledge and spiritual guidance can be gained from the Old Testament books.

I agree, it's hard to pin it down to just One. I really like the old testament books because it is so rich in stories of the power of God despite the israelite's continuous rebellion against God, he always took them back, whichin a whole is I think a statement for all of us. If I had to pick from the OT I guess it would be Jeremiah, but I do like Daniel too, or maybe even Genesis because it holds so much and if you can't hold the truth of the very first book then you may as well deny the validity of the whole thing. In the beginning God created - kind of sums it all up for me. my fav NT book is Romans because so much of the old and even the gospels was written to the Jew and their traditions and laws, Christ came first to give the message to the Jew and then the gentile. Paul does an excellent job of laying it out there that this is a message of redemption for the entire world. The book is a fantastic evangelism reference too. Then their are the rare 'nuggets of realism' as I like to point out to my class, like in II Timothy chapter 4. At the end of a particularly stirring I have fought the good fight... He asks they bring his books when they come to visit because he left them there last time he was in town...but to watch out for Alexander because he's a crook.. it was just so - everyday.

I am not much into reading...I hardly read any books. But I have read bible...and its my favourite...I find all the books in bible interesting and inspiring All the books are linked with each other you will feel you have missed something if you start from some ramdom book in the middle...My favourite is Genesis the first book of bible...which has the creation of this world, man and woman. I just love to read it over and over with all interpretations. Also I like the book of Isiah which has mention of jesus in many places...It strengthens my beliefs when I doubt sometimes. I refer back to isiah when I fear my salvation.

Isaiah is a wonderful book, with some of my favorite scenes--the "here am I send me" scene in chapter 6, the picture of Christ in 53, and the depiction of God's majesty in 40 are among them.
