ok here is why we have pets we often feel lonley pained or just need compainionship. I myself think that we need more pets as a pet owner i have 2 dogs and they love me just like a human would.but not everybody has a pet and and if there say husband leaves them they might feel depressed or unwanted but with a pet people might not feel that way

I dont have a pet and I dont need one but I can understand how some people feel that their pet is their friend. To me, it would just be a responsibility that I didnt need..... bit like a husband really

Maybe it will sound funny, but I decided to get a dog when I moved into a new town. I didn't have too many friends, my relatives were all far away, and all I was doing was going to work, then watching TV. I started to gain weight and I thought I won't go anywhere that way. So I decided it was time to get a dog. I had dreamt to have a dog since I was a child and that was a decision I will never regret.

I have two dogs and I really love them and love how they express their loyalty. I don't think I seek companionship with them. I'm just fond of animals and pets and it's really cool how they adore and love you. You have a point though. Pets are good companions. And if somehow you're suffering from a failed relationship, your pet would easily distract you and give you the fierce loyalty and affection you need while going through that tough time in a your life.
