how many of us change our career dream when we step into a college from school?

stepping into college or changing career direction - college should be a helping tool in achieving your dream and not assisting to veer your goal..

There are many instances when we observe our friends or may be looking at ourselves find that something is not going in our way. Are we progressing to our childhood dream? or we just changed it when we entered college life? Seriously, when did we sit for introspection and say that No,this is not my dream and i have to change my way? you wanted to be a musician or painter or singer but ended up doing engineering, medicals, academics and so on... Anyway i want to discuss ..how many of you have changed your career goal while being in college? Do you still regret not following your childhood fantasy? Or have you made a wise decision?

Hi, I should say sometimes what you studied in your college or university, you may not end up with the job with that particular field. When I first graduated from my high school, I was thinking what I am going to do,what course I am going to take for my university. At last, I choose banking and finance. So did my first job related to my field? No, totally not related at all. However, I still have to accept this job, because I want to get the experience and I am willing to learn new things. Only my second and third job slightly related to my study field, both were in banking line, but I don't really utilize what I was studied in my University. I was still under training and have to learn new things in order to secure my banking jobs. That was a great working experiences for me.

hi shia..well it's good to know that you made your job on the line of your studies. But again my question is ..Was it your childhood dream to be in banking and finance?for example if someone likes physics or chemistry or any pure science in his school life and later go for higher studies in college and end up being a scientist.that sound perfect but what if he/she choose engineering, medical etc.another example ,most of us never hear about management course in school but in college most of people opt for it..

I went to college to follow my childhood dream of being a fashion designer but once I got there, I didn't like it and changed majors. I am still undecided now. I heard that people change majors at least 4 times! But hey, we're always growing and changing.
